Creator Aikea Rieko of The Plastik is debuting some beautiful strapless dresses for Spring, framing an hourglass figure with her trademark detailed prints and naughty corset-like ribbons, wrapped around the torso for a li'l extra feminine waist-cinching.
Aikea is more typically known for her combination of rich, dark palettes and fantasy touches; however as this image shows, Aikea proves just as agile at whipping up fresh, vibrant colors that are perfect for Springtime glam. I thought this dress worked so nicely with this new side braided, double-cord headband "Elyse" style by Truth; some triple-tone feathers earrings, a wrapped leather-corded gem necklace + some pastel-toned colorblocked bangles completed this new Native look.

Arizona Dreamin'.

And this is how I do "pumpkin" tones this time of year.
This look is more a combo of russet + orange hues, with a splash of turquoise; this archetypal "Southwest desert" color scheme reminded me how much I miss the Arizona sky, where a spectacular mix of dust + light creates technicolor sunsets every night (the likes of which I've yet to see anywhere else on this planet).

Snapshots from the Grid: Happy Mood.

The old Happy Mood build was 1 of the most original on the grid (that giant grassy island was so lonely + fantastic, with all the hidden secrets tucked deep inside) so I was curious how the new SIM redo would stack up. My video card protested, and IMs suffered, but it was sooo worth it: lush, springtime forests came alive thru hidden clearings, quiet woodland creatures + a gnarled vine swing nestled prettily amidst the branches. The feel of the place is downright magical; a simple stroll thru these densely landscaped woods is all it takes to rustle up vibrant scenes from your favorite picture books, no longer buried away in your childhood memories.
This is also the perfect spot for photogs to experiment with Windlight; there's tons of light here, so you'll get striking results simply by playing with settings. Fairy shots would be such a 'natch in these woods!
Too many pearls, a pink wrap dress by SLexy's own Cate Ying + 1 of my fave Truth hairs to date, the retro side swirl "Faith" style, inspired this Pandora look today.
I also made friends with Bubba, king of the forest bunnehs. He was cool, but he ate too many peanut butter & banana sandwiches (hence his enormous girth). It was his one regret in life, hehe.

Chicken 'n Waffles

I was styling my 2nd installment of images for Le.Look! when I happened upon this free military "jacket shirt" by Whippet & Buck just hanging out on a back wall (no idea how old this gift is, but it wasn't already in my inventory). For some reason this put me in a finger-lickin' mood; some free tasty fried chicken from Poche helped curb the ol' poultry cravings, which were 'specially tasty with this free waffle ring that everybody's been wearing. *dribbles chicken juice on self; sops it up with waffle*

Real Angels Eat Angel Food Cake

Every once in awhile, it's nice to indulge in some premium skivvies. There's a superluxe smoky plum/pink-nude lace set by Fishy Strawberry out at The Dressing Room that's some of the nicest I've seen in awhile (totes channeling La Perla). -- I couldn't resist some angel food cake + vintage ad styling to go with; some indulgence seemed appropro for this nottie but nice ensemble.

Casual Saturday

It's been fun times for hair shoppers recently with oodles of sales, like the blonde/silver $50L everything sale at 69, where I scooped this scarf-woven braided hair that's been plastering the feeds. I'm also deeply in luhs with these new herringbone tights by MStyle (really, truly fierce) + a big believer in the L. Fauna $50L Fridays makeups (some of the best steals on the grid), which gave this Belleza "Aiko" skin gift a totes different look. A free triple stripes arm tat by La Malvada Mujer lent an indie vibe to it all.

Vargas Girl Friday

Today's pic is an homage to the great Alberto Vargas, originator of voluptuous pinup girl extroardinare. Today's look does feature some new goodies like these free "postcard" earrings by Chantkare + the latest Atomic skin gift (mmm matte fuscia lips), but this was more about just testing the ol' Photoshop skillz (gotta luhs the self-imposed challenges) whilst playing with some vintage styling.
I'm thinking of turning this into a pinup girl "series" (been very inspired lately by some amazing other "series" work on Flickr) -- but would anyone want one? Lol.
