Silver Foxette.

I couldn't resist strolling thru an Italian piazza today, which felt 'specially comfy in this casual new jersey dress by Maitreya + some pretty new silver-toned accessories that you can scoopie at the latest round of Collabor88.

The rich themes at Collabor88 are so much fun each month (this month: "Miami Electric!") that I deliberately wanted to style a more neutral-toned look, to demonstrate just how versatile this monthly event can be (which btw still remains 1 of the best shopping events on the grid). Goddess of Night.

Nyx, goddess of night, daughter of Khaos and mother to many other deities, spurned daylight in favor of the moon's cooling rays. Older and more powerful than Zeus (who deferred to her wishes), Nyx could be either mankind's friend or foe, and could bring either sleep or death. -- The lady also practically invented smokey eyeliner, hehe.
Even the irresistible Cupid tried to woo the mighty Nyx. But she tricked him and left a basset hound in her place (gods have a strange sense of humor). This month has been tres fun playing with all the Homeric elements at Collabor88's bday celebration. Get ready, 'cuz The Arcade is coming very soon!

Orange Blossoms.

And a quickie shot of this sweet orange blossoms dress (which has already been making the blog rounds) that you must scoopie for the extremely reasonable price of free.

I love it when creators put the same loving care into their gifties as their items for sale, and it's hard not to notice that there's oodles of loving detail crammed into this li'l dress. The sexy-yet-girlie geometric back cutout alone renders this design so utterly feminine; the retro orange seams, pique fabric texture + Marimekko-like print make this one a standout find. The $1L oval cameo rings offer a sweet accompaniment to this look; if you cruise around the SIM, there's a mini-hunt going on here with some other nice free finds as well, including a nice ensemble of free poses + this free tote bag I'm wearing here.

There's an old saying that your friends will drive you to drink. Which is precisely why I came prepared for today's phone call, hehe.
Most of the things I'm wearing today are free; I needed something to offset all the adorbs-ness (from these cute $8L candy-striped frames to this free panda T-shirt) so I chose these new skintight jeans by Indyra Originals + free silver-buckled ankle boots. My panda buddy decided to hop into this pic at the last minute (mostly in the hopes of impressing the future "Mrs" panda); little did he know that she was exactly who I was already yapping away with on the phone (I didn't tell him).

Styling Studies.

Don'tcha just love it when SL iconic creators relaunch their store in the name of bigger + better things? Fishy Strawberry creator Fae Eriksen has done just that (hence her crazy sale at the end of last year), and as per usual, Fae's new 2014 mesh releases are impeccably detailed + are such a creative fusion of both the girlie + the smex. I always appreciate that the Fishy Strawberry looks are extremely versatile: you can mix 'n match the different pieces so easily, which as fashionistas know, is tres important when trying to find that perfect piece to finish a look. For me, this means that Fae's designs are always a smart buy.

Btw I would be amiss if I didn't mention this free braided crown hair by Truth, which you've hopefully already scoopied from the subscribo (1 of his prettiest gifts yet, which is really saying something, given how nice his previous Xmas gifts have been; plus you get so many hair colors); this dramatic butterfly makeup skin (such a find by Glam Affair) & these utterly fab jewels, new by Baiastice -- all of which I deeply appreciate as total high-impact "statement" items, which for me, are exactly the kind of pieces that make styling perennially fun.

Cheerful Chilly.

And now a break from Shoetopia 2013 coverage to show you a few cheerful things that have been keeping me warm during these chilly days: this off-the-shoulder, buttery yellow sweater by DRIFT; a golden triple-chain necklace (that I'm wearing here as a headband) by Boom, and some free caramel java to hep keep warm. -- Plus aren't these free tights a find? I luhs this modern geometric cutout pattern, which worked so nicely as a stylistic foil against these Victorian lace-up boots by Beetlebones (you'll find these at Collabor88; even amidst all your shoe choices this month, these meticulously-textured boots are a true gem -- 'specially if you're a tall, lace-up boots kinda girl like moi).


And here's a better look at this youthful "Elvi" skin by Glam Affair, which is totes the epitome of "fresh-faced" (plus the subtly glossy, utterly pouty lipsticks on this particular skin are just gorge). Some free cinnabon earrings, a sprinkling o' frex + some shiny, clear eyes (these, of course, are by Ikon) and I look just as innocent as can be. Hehe.

Shoetopia 2013: Pink Platformed Angel.

You can always tell which booth draws oodles of interest when there's a crowd even at the blogger preview. The Boom booth at Shoetopia 2013 was jam-packed with folks, and for good reason: creator Aranel Ah's satin bowtied, utterly girlie "Olycena" platform heels -- made to work with the SLINK natural feet -- are 1 of the cutest designs I've spied yet at Shoetopia 2013. Sweet yet sassy with a demure rounded foot shape + wickedly stacked platform heel, they're resizeable (always a good thing) + the bow sections are color change (via HUD), meaning they pretty much go with everything (or nothing). Take a look.
