Vain & Vintage

So the big news in eventsland is the much-anticipated Vintage Fair kicking off on November 11th, hosted by Keira Seerose & Co. of CHIC Management. Here's a sneak peek of this freaking stunning Art Deco-ish dress by The Sea Hole, in that most quintessential of roaring '20s color combos: dove gray + nude, color blocked together in this deep V-neck bodice that practically screams Great Gatsby. The latest Donna Flora cameo 'n pave-encrusted jewels added a subtle sparkly touch.
*Photography tip of the day: Gavin found 1 of the most useful photog tools ever that I just had to share with y'all: a free wearable HUD that you can control your eyes with (it does other stuff too, like clench/release your fingers, etc.). No idea if everybody else already has this thing or what (it was new to me), but it works together with any pose + it's freakin' fantastico. Thanks to Gavin for this ZOMG awes tip! Runway Ready

There's this li'l thing called Modavia Fashion Week that you might've heard of happening at the mo'. Since I've been utterly unable to attend any of the shows so far, I figured at the very least, I should show you some new things from 1 of my fave designers, Maylee Oh of The Secret Store, whose new designs hit the runway today. Fans of this brand will not be disappointed: this new collection joyfully emulates Maylee's signature style of mixing bold prints, clean silhouettes + soft, retro-mod feminine moods.
My fave piece from Maylee's new collection has gotta be this scrumptiously textured, cable knit bodysuit: so so smex + furry-warm for those coming colder months. -- To me, there's something tres whimsical about using a heavy fabric for something as skimpy as a bodysuit; I'm always tickled by fashionista plays like that.

The latest So Many Styles free group gift is a moddable azure blue tunic with puffy sleeves + a thin, sparkly gold belt that's so fitting for this wrap dress style.
Every once in awhile, a new giftie will surface that's 'specially snatchworthy; such is the case with these free red leopard print (!) smartie panties glasses by Acid & Mala that I spotted on the store blog section of Style Academy (i.e., my sneak peek go-to resource now). Goddessing

Sometimes 2 totally unrelated new releases will come together in a most au naturel way, which is exactly what happened with the new lush, flowey hairs by Truth + the newly debuted "drape" dresses by Zenith. -- Hellooo goddessing mood. *double mwuahs Truth Hawks + Miffyhoi Rosca*
I adore half-up, half-down styles (you get to show off your jewels and smex it up a bit) + this coy new "Bree" over-the-shoulder, low ponys style results in a tres flirtatious look. -- You can easily see why the draping is exceptional on this "Athena" garment; you even get a full set of shell jewelry included (bracelets, necklace +this conch shell headband!), which makes accessorizing a snap.
This bouncy "Lacey" headband hair is a way smex take on the traditional headband style; perhaps it's the way these longer front hair pieces drape suggestively over the bodice. -- Speaking of draping, these sideswept folds on this new "Leona" dress beautifully suggest sensual movement; a particularly pronounced effect in rich, deeper colors like this va-va-va-voom cherry red.

On Frozen Icees & Piggishness

Maitreya creator Onyx LeShelle has recently released her summer line, including new shirt + pants separates and this elegant 1-shoulder ruffle dress that's perfect for relaxed summertime fete-ing. Or, say, free animal-shaped breads. *mwuahs Onyx LeShelle*
Shopperistas will appreciate the single prim, scripted aspect of these pieces: for example, fatpackers receive 1 shoulder ruffle that changes color via a menu (instead of a zillion copies of the same item). -- This is such a welcome relief for anyone desperately trying to cut inventory clutter (ahem); not to mention getting tons o' mix 'n match options (which I took advantage of here).
Here's a better look at Onyx's scrumptious new triple-buckle, thin-strapped "Allegre" platform heels, where you can really see Onyx's ability to execute tricky, subtle pastels in beautifully realistic RL leather textures. Yums.

Real Angels Eat Angel Food Cake

Every once in awhile, it's nice to indulge in some premium skivvies. There's a superluxe smoky plum/pink-nude lace set by Fishy Strawberry out at The Dressing Room that's some of the nicest I've seen in awhile (totes channeling La Perla). -- I couldn't resist some angel food cake + vintage ad styling to go with; some indulgence seemed appropro for this nottie but nice ensemble.
Sometimes my emo side slips out. -- Gavin's so dreamy. Hehe.
G + I decided to break for the Hamptons early this week, i.e., a good excuse to show off his new driving shoes after our friend Vixanne left a particularly incisive comment on the chatbox recently. -- That hurt nobody's feelings, I might add. -- It's that damn emo side again! Hehe.
