The new March round of The Arcade has many "of the forest"-type things pulled straight from a fairytale, to stir up the fresh promise of Spring. -- To me, today's look recalled the tragic tale of Daphne, the beautiful nymph who could only dodge the ever-persistent god Cupid (Eros) by turning herself into a laurel tree. -- Which just goes to show that the whole thing of females resorting to extreme measures to avoid unwanted attention actually dates back to ancient times. -- Too bad they didn't have Facebook's "Name & Shame Stalkers" thing back then, eh? Daphne would've Bawse Bished that Eros in no time.

Some childhood tales stay with you forever, and this one* about a tiny magical doll that saved a girl from cruel circumstances (+ helped her become a princess) is one that still enchants me.

Glam Affair is debuting a fresh new face that feels noticeably different from recent past releases: the startling "Lauren" combines suuuper-pouty lips; thick, intelligentsia brows; youthfully wide-set eyes + an utterly gamine expression that makes you want to mutter something in French like Ooh La La.

I chose this heavy-banged, straight long "Ambrosia" hair by Truth to dramatically frame this fashionista face; a sleek new wool 1-piece dress by Fishy Strawberry + a tres minimalistic $1L gem drop lariat necklace completed this modern look.

Tobacco Fall.

2 things always firmly put me in the mood for Fall: that oh-so-slight-but-unmistakeable brisk chill in the air + NYC Fashion Week, both of which in turn signal . . . boots 'n jeans weather. Warm, rich tobacco browns like this cropped leather jacket (new by creator Fae Eriksen for her Fishy Strawberry brand's Fall line) offers a casual, urban-ready style to smoothly transition from 1 season into the next.
And now a word about this particularly lovely skin: this delicate, pale yellow & blue eyeshadowed skin by Glam Affair (set off by these natural peach-brown lips) has got to be one of my hands-down fave skin palettes I've worn all year (the combo of this pastel buttery yellow + light sky blue simply opens up the face). I'm paired it with this just-so tousled new "Posy" style by Truth (in an auburn-brown shade, to set off this delicate makeup), added a pink blush + some of the new bright Ikon "Hope" eyes: now this is a face I could live in, seasons-round.
