Winter Treats.

The winter months find the grid simply bursting with events, including everybody's fave $88L monthly event Collabor88, which is overflowing with the goodies this time around. The new "Bianca" hair by Truth, featuring thse oh-so-'80s hairfall wave bangs, plus a lusciously shiny, new mauve lip gloss makeup for the latest "Amberly" skin by Glam Affair, got me all ready to enjoy my free jar o' gingerbread cookies.
And in home decor news, I decided to switch up our SL home to be purely an "outdoorsy" scene, after grabbing that steal of a snow dome camping scene gift on the Royal Living Hunt for $45L from FD Decor (an animated tent, camping lantern, on/off fire (complete with marshmallow sticks!), live falling snow, snow-capped firs + even an ice skating pond all included). I added some reindeer (happily munching the giant Miasnow lollys at The Arcade), some apple pie + holiday lights, and a new snuggly home was born. -- How perfect is this "fallen tree," complete with miniaturized Santa + reindeer scene, for adding a li'l secret to your winter woods? Crammed with loving detail, this winter log is frosted with fallen snowdrifts, Santa + even teeny tiny Xmas lights strings for the reindeer reins. Ho ho ho!

Meanwhile here in NYC, bitter winds are making it a pain in the @#$! to have any sort of social life. Still, I'm off to brunch for some dear friends to meet the furry monster (wish me luck that he doesn't decide to relieve himself all over their extremely expensive hardwood floors).

Snapshots from the Grid: Happy Mood.

The old Happy Mood build was 1 of the most original on the grid (that giant grassy island was so lonely + fantastic, with all the hidden secrets tucked deep inside) so I was curious how the new SIM redo would stack up. My video card protested, and IMs suffered, but it was sooo worth it: lush, springtime forests came alive thru hidden clearings, quiet woodland creatures + a gnarled vine swing nestled prettily amidst the branches. The feel of the place is downright magical; a simple stroll thru these densely landscaped woods is all it takes to rustle up vibrant scenes from your favorite picture books, no longer buried away in your childhood memories.
This is also the perfect spot for photogs to experiment with Windlight; there's tons of light here, so you'll get striking results simply by playing with settings. Fairy shots would be such a 'natch in these woods!
Too many pearls, a pink wrap dress by SLexy's own Cate Ying + 1 of my fave Truth hairs to date, the retro side swirl "Faith" style, inspired this Pandora look today.
I also made friends with Bubba, king of the forest bunnehs. He was cool, but he ate too many peanut butter & banana sandwiches (hence his enormous girth). It was his one regret in life, hehe.

Strawberry Shortcake

In other news, by sheer fortuitous circumstance, I currently find myself in . . . Hawaii! Here's a few quickie shots of Oahu from my phone for your (virtual) vacation enjoyment. -- The water is warm + clear (the darker stuff below is coral) + the temp is a perfect 85 degrees. Also for some reason, the island has a constant breeze going, so the sound of rustling palm fronds is everywhere on the island (the gentle swish-swish sounds particularly tropical at night). Ahhh.
