Romperette.

A romper of any kind isn't easy to pull off (in any life), but I was inspired to give this new shortie mesh one by Hucci a whirl after seeing this crazy video here.* The new "Lykie" wavy mesh hair by Truth, a just-released retro-print bucket bag by Le Poppycock + that fabby mesh geode ring by Yummy (that I just can't seem to take off) completed today's casual look.

Orange Ya Glad . . . It's Fashion for Life!

If you happened to hear event organizer, blogger + inworld group leader Harper Beresford last week on the radio, you would have heard her explain why she volunteers to organize the Fashion for Life cancer charity event every year: because without advances in medicine, all of which require money, people diagnosed with cancer today simply wouldn't have the same chance as they did even several years ago. As the official event blog reminds us, cancer touches all of our lives; it also happens to be a cause that lies particularly close to my own heart.
One of my favorite designers, Squinternet Larnia of Donna Flora, could not participate this year due to being ill herself; I'm choosing to wear her jewelry here in this post, and (as I'm sure she would do, too) I'm encouraging everyone -- even if they don't want to shop -- to visit Fashion for Life and donate something (even if it's just a few $L). Harper has painstakingly organized 1 of the most respected events on the grid, and you have more than a week to visit the 9 spectacular builds (all themed around totally different concepts, from a retro '50s-like "diner" build to my favorite, an Art Deco-styled open area with a giant moon looming in the background).

Hopefully you will never know the fear + devastation that cancer can wreak onto a human life, but if you do, with everyone's continued support for continued research and new breakthroughs, maybe it won't have to feel like a death sentence, after all.

Mint Julep.

It's so nice for frugalistas that we can now find some of the best things available anywhere at discount events. The $88L & under selection at Collabor88 is always something to look forward to; each month is styled around a "mood board" (much like how a RL fashion collection is also often conceptualized), which generates an ensemble of things that's truly unique to the rest of the grid. (I'm also personally tickled that the A+++ designer list reads like a mini-sampler of The Bookstore). This month's selection showcases fresh spring brights (including this vibrant mint green hue) + bold floral prints; i.e., the perfect way to stylistically welcome Spring.
I'm also showing you another color of this week's long, flowey "India" style by Truth, and 1 of my fave items from this month's round of Collabor88: this oversized amethyst "geode" mesh ring by Yummy. I was really feelin' a minty fresh hue, so I slipped on the "Bahama Green" colored eyes by Ikon for a li'l color pop (which contrasted nicely against a snowy-white hair color).

Summer Toned.

There comes a time every winter when you're just ready for summer. This week's 2 new Truth styles hearken straight to warmer weather moods: this flower-adorned, luxuriously flowey "India" hair (on a rare sale price this week!) is now officially 1 of my fave longer styles to date, both for its au naturel, just-barely sweeping over the eyes part + the hell-yes-I-just-had-a-blowout gently wavy pieces framing the sides of the face.
I'm also showing the rigged mesh "Brenna" side pony style below, which I thought added a classy boho touch to the newest batik printed long skirt + tube top release by Indyra Originals. A latte-toned, frex-touched skin, new basket-woven purse (with pretty gold hardware) + soon-to-be-released light green eyes by Ikon completed my beach-ready look today.

I am going to rant about something here that I think other bloggers have probably been growing tired of as well: unless I know you, and maybe even then, please don't syndicate my blog without getting my written permission (or request) first. Not only is it stated 5 ways to Sunday on the Terms of Use that this is my blog's content policy, but just kindly give me the chance to let me choose whether I wish to join your feed, before you presume that I wish to do so.

I also want to say that anyone who engages in this kind of behavior is highly unethical and absolutely stealing content under the DMCA and other U.S. laws (as in, punishable by fine), since this constitutes the act of taking someone's content without getting their prior written permission.

Drowsy Weekend.

Gavin & I did the "Book Panic Party" hunt at Drowsy yesterday + found plenty of free cute things, like these wee li'l panda-llamas enjoying their morning coffee.
You can start the hunt here; make sure to check the sign near the landing point for the specific book cover you're looking for (there's 20 of these "special" books in all). Here's a quickie snapshot of most of the loot, including my fave, the potted hippo (I squashed his face with this saucy kitty).
