Adventures of the Junior Meat Mafia, Vol. 1: Hooch Quest

Sometimes you just need a break from the whole craziness of SL fashion. Which is why me + my buddies Dorothy Button and Gavin McGinnis decided to form a new crew: the Junior Meat Mafia. Our quest: to seek out all things meat. But hey, we're inclusive. We also look for all yummeh stuff to wash it all down with.

Having heard rumors of a moonshine distillery in SL, of course we Junior Meat Mafia members just had to investigate. Look at these enormous orange vats we found tucked away on a horse farm (see them behind me?) Sneaky!
Taste testing is tres important. I snuck my own jug o' hooch faster than you can say Johnny Walker. *Giggles + gulps it down* Heeey. I feel fiiine.
Dorothy was busy scanning the area for hidden moonshine vats. See how she makes the country Western thing look supaglam?
Usually I'd say that Dorothy is one of the most normal people I know. But after knocking back some o' that moonshine, an intense, crazy competitive streak began to reveal itself."Looky here Junior Meat Mafia peoples, I discovered this here moonshine. It's all mine. I'm saying, this town ain't big enough for the three of us." (Notice Gavin guzzling his moonshine quietly in the background during this time). This was also when I began to wonder whether our trip to the gun factory right before was quite as brilliant as I had originally thought.What was that? Did you guys hear a cop car?
There's nothing like the threat of external authority to make everybody friends again. OK Junior Meat Mafia internal conflicts resolved! We scooted outta there pretty quick.

That moonshine must've really done a number on us, 'cuz suddenly we felt an overwhelming urge to dance with the cows. (We are the Junior Meat Mafia! Must spend quality time with our food source). -- Turns out that the only dance the cows knew was the Hokey Pokey, so we humans followed along as best we could. We weren't great at it, but we knew the cows had to respect us anyway 'cuz we had our guns + stuff.

"You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out . . ."
"You put your right foot in and you shake it all about . . ."
"You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around . . ."
"That's what it's all about."
The country Western thing was growing on us, so we donned our favorite antlers for some pose striking, Western-style. (We Junior Meat Mafia members like to envision ourselves as meat whenever possible. It's kinda our thing).
Something about the brown horns + wooly red hat made these free antlers totally go with Dorothy's plaid outfit.
You wouldn't know it, but the cacti (that's plural for cactus, for all you non-Western-hailing folk) seemed to enjoy having us around. We think Gavin was their fave. (He braved their needles + stood the closest to them).
Gavin and I's antlers came from Callie Cline + they were just lovely. You could almost hear the tinkling of these pretty little ornaments hanging so daintily from them. Gavin's had tiny miniature stockings + candy canes draped over the horns. I adored mine too. Who can resist antlers with pink ornaments?
All of us totally loved these free reindeer slippers (which come with their own decorated mini-antlers) from Rebel Hope Designs. Aren't they just darling? Li'l furry white "cotton ball" tails for your feets! *faints, dies*
It was time to scare up some 'cue (the saucy ribs kind, with sides), so we Junior Meat Mafia members headed in search of some grub.

Free Casual Mood by dEVOL (Jeans Included)

If you are like me and you get a special tingle whenever you get a free bit o' awesomeness from a MM board, scoot on over to Kaori Masala's dEVOL store, where the MM board is giving away these too-cool denim jeans free for group members. (Head downstairs + tap the sign to join the dEVOL group for $0L). Love how this dark blue-black denim plays against the lighter champange-colored wash. (I just checked + these jeans were on 23/55 as of the time of this post, so there's still time to grab 'em today!)
Aren't these scrummy? So great for your casual mood, yet this edgy fade says "Don't eff with me, I'm a badazz shopper." Perfect to get in the proper mindset for all the upcoming madness this Black Friday. Hee.

Here I am practicing my "ZOMG I HAD MY HANDS ON THOSE JEANS FIRST!" stretch. It's like fashionista yoga. It's all about method.
I paired this look with big baseball cap hair from Mirai Style (isn't it way fun?) + a casual tank from Alegria Designs, which caught my eye for its saturated, rich cherry red color. The yummeh candy cane mouth treat is included in the naughty ruffled undies $1L gift from Torrify. (I find that having minty-fresh breath really gives you the upper hand when telling off another crazed shopper).
Big bronze statement jewelry (new from Dark Mouse) completed this look. Check out how the ornate metalwork of this jewelry totally offsets the simplicity of this outfit.
Here's a back shot of these fabby jeans (notice how they're not ass-crackingly low). Here I'm standing next to my fave Christmas tree ever -- the sad little Charlie Brown one. Fair warning: this thing is over 50 prims. But hey, who wouldn't sacrifice a few pieces of furniture/prim count for such adorableness? Plus it's a total steal on XStreet for only $50L.
Btw here's where not to put a candy cane on other shoppers, no matter how frustrated you get.
I was checking out Pixel Mode's stunning new farmland SIM when I stumbled upon some rockin' poses. Any photogs with some spare $L should totally do a drive-by (the poses are located in the back of Pixel Mode's main building). I scooped a few, but there's lots of unusually sexy ones to be found (particularly in the laying down/sitting positions).
I won this free fabulously messy hair several times from the various MM boards by Alli & Ali + really liked this bed-tousled style with this casual look. This strawberry blonde hair color is so vibrant + totally shows how hair itself can be the most eye-catching accesory. Yes body parts as accessories! Works for me!
This little guy hiding on my shoulder is part of the free Snowflake Hunt gift (which includes a fur cap + fur bolero jacket) from B&T Atelier. Poor teddy was kinda shy (for some reason Gavin made him nervous) so I think he enjoyed peeking out occasionally from behind my long curtain of hair.
My best advice I can give this week to fellow shoppers: keep it cas (style-wise and mood-wise) and most importantly of all, remember to keep up your strength. Shopping can be such cardio -- all that necessary pushing + shoving can really work those arm muscles.

Speaking of which, me + my $L are so ready for this week's craziest $50L Fridays ever (45+ designers? Or more? Oh noes! Oh yes!) And I haven't even started on RL holidays yet!

Snow Bunneh

It was chilly in RL today, so I fell into my SL winter mood with the new puffy white down jacket from Coco. I noticed this jacket for the fierceness that is the gold chain draping across the midriff. I also like how "open" the front area is (i.e., that you can still see your top at the same time that you're wearing the jacket). This jacket comes in separate top + bottom parts, so it moves a bit more realistically than a single chunky piece stuck to your midriff.
I realized that other than the coat, everything else about my outfit is 200% cold weather impractical. Hee.
This necklace is the subscribo gift from LeeZu! that's been all over the blogs (and deservedly so; the interplay between chunky gold "rings" + airy metal chain makes for one of the best jewelry gifts ever). This keyhole "slit" mini-polka dots top is just one of the finds from the current Zenith lucky boards (with more supercute pieces that I'll try to post, depending on how many I can win, hee hee). See how the narrow opening just curls over the belly button? The smexeh is all in the details.
I really adore these leggings from Glow Studio. The white piping around the ovals is simply brill + the naughty placing of these cutouts is way fun.
Kalnins' new Sonata heels caught my eye for their gold swirly loops hardware, which nicely finished this look.

I have to say that I've been living for the DPYumYum hairs. Not too many styles are available, but they're a reasonable $150L per color (for $300L you get 3 colors). The classic heavy bangs fringe is so flattering + I love how flexi the long strands are (which really helps with the whole hair-getting-stuck-in-bewbies thang).

My skin is the former Belleza group gift Jesse which is still one of my favies. There's a new skin gift for men right now (it's a new version of one of their best faces, the Ewan) that's a great reason for men to pony up the $250L group join fee. The Jesse was given out this fall + it still rivals skins that I've paid many times the $250L group join fee for (for both the face and the body).
Bring on the cold weather. When all else fails, there's always comfy indoor SL shopping.
