Native Spring.

Creator Aikea Rieko of The Plastik is debuting some beautiful strapless dresses for Spring, framing an hourglass figure with her trademark detailed prints and naughty corset-like ribbons, wrapped around the torso for a li'l extra feminine waist-cinching.
Aikea is more typically known for her combination of rich, dark palettes and fantasy touches; however as this image shows, Aikea proves just as agile at whipping up fresh, vibrant colors that are perfect for Springtime glam. I thought this dress worked so nicely with this new side braided, double-cord headband "Elyse" style by Truth; some triple-tone feathers earrings, a wrapped leather-corded gem necklace + some pastel-toned colorblocked bangles completed this new Native look.

Unexpected, In Canary

Sometimes you'll fall in luhs with a bright paintbox color for absolutely no reason. -- Take canary yellow, for example. 1 of my fave Stuart Weitzman wedges in RL are in this color (they lept off the shelves at me a few seasons ago). The Hunt for Those Effin' Red Clogs

What do you get when you combine scrumptiously baked textures, hidden apartments + 1 fabby pair of missing red clogs? Why, a li'l SL adventure made just for us fashionistas.
Some of SL's best designers have taken up hidden "residence" in the brand new Saikin SIM (the Saikin + Boom stores are on the ground level). Several floors of half-open, mostly closed doors hide secret "apartments"; cam around to find crazy detailed builds inside, like these glowy DJ decks in this abandoned car garage.

I must've over-indulged a teeny bit prior to all this SL exploration. Luckily, a golden toilet + spinning disco ball bathroom made this private moment tres glam.
Ahhh my own grassy patch, right next to the facilities -- with a shower + bubbles! How convenient.
Since I was in a casual girlie explorer mood, I slipped on the free subscribo gift by Trashy Girls In Style. This striking floral print short set (with adorable mini-gold belt included) was just perfect for some fashionista wanderings. A free double bangles set by Sigma Jewels (you get a free pink set included too) + free lace-up driving gloves by Butterfly Effectz finished this look.
There's many gifts thruout these crazy apartments (don't miss the free skybox in one of 'em -- it's the one with the fancy paintings). I also loved the apartment by creator Chocolate Arashi of Couverture, where you can buy all the clothes hanging in the closet. Make sure to scoop this pretty plant for a mere $20L (how cute is the stenciled pot on this thing)?
Some of the rugs are tricky when you click on 'em. I was lost in headhphones land, so I didn't even notice until I got rolled up tight. Hee.
My search for those free Saikin red clogs was quickly turning into temper tantrum time when when my manshionistas came to the rescue with their superior clog radar skills (awww thanks dudes)! *mwuahs Ethan + G* Here's SLexy Fashionista model Ethan Kanahoe enjoying a bunneh moment in this toy-strewn apartment (this bed had a really cute animation in it).

Noju No More

O sad day that my girl Val Southard tipped me off that Noju is closing. *lonely single tear trickles down face* Creator Noju Jupiter has set out this white lace, big-bowed concoction for free in her store. -- This shorts set has already been blogged to death, but I just couldn't resist. It's so purdy.
The Noju lucky board is also giving out this free long flowy skirt with a black mesh layer hiding a baby pink underlining.
For anyone who likes this style, there's a free matching tank top in the KDC Mall lucky boards with a matching top that I recently blogged for Free*Style here. -- A free colorful panda charm chain by Ruru@Pino, free low ponys hair by Beautiful Dirty Rich + a wide belt by Luck Inc. completed this casual look.

Cute poses at $20L each + a killer view of the ocean await you on the 2nd floor. -- I have to say that Noju's double rose barrettes that I'm wearing here (you get 3 colors per set) are some of my fave hair accessories ever (look in the knick-knack shelving with tiny little plants).

Circus Sideshow

"Circus" by Britney Spears has been running thru my head, so when the new Le Cirque designer event kicked off yesterday, it was kinda like fashion + music sync-a-palooza.
This fluttery new "ruffle" dress by Miamai, combined with the new skin by Atomic Bambi, felt so totally right for my circus performer mood.
Tightropes are a tricky business. Especially in these lovely Kookie platform wedges. Hee.

Vargas Girl

The lure of the Vargas Girl is all about sass + class. This retro pin-up girl look is sexy yet sophisticated, without showing too much skin.
Vargas' lush girls inspired such a fantasy escapism for his WWII-era times. Here's my rough approximation in front of this sparkplugs poster. Hee.
This vintage leopard print bodysuit was a total find at WigBamWam's $50L + under everything sale. (Grab it while you can, before the entire store goes bye-bye on 11/13). I paired it with these Maitreya black velvet ballerina platforms + Noju's lace-up ribbon socks (this lovely nude shade has quickly become one of my favorites).
What I love most about the Vargas Girl look is the voluptuous, sultry-not-sleazy feel. See how this just-naughty bottoms cut does peachy things for the buttie.
I love to channel this worship-me-I-am-female 'tude every day. Particularly when I am singing/posing/dancing where no one else can see. Like in front of my mirror. Tee hee.

Style Diary: Accessories by YourSkin & YourShape

YourSkin & YourShape created quite a buzz on the blog circuit last month when it gifted their absolutely fabby turquoise shoes + purse from its Illetes series. This month the free group gift is a chic black-and-white print purse with gold buckles. There's also a free double-ropes white pearl necklace and free matching earrings set -- both featuring shiny oval silver hardware loops -- that are to die. I really love how this store does the metal hardware parts so realistically.
These black lace-trimmed cuffs capris are free at the Burt Laundry store, which is permanently shuttering its doors and currently having a $30L + under everything sale. These coquettish shorts are so worth the 15 min camp. I paired them with this narrow, crimson-colored belt that I found at Kosh (6 colors are included for $10L). I personally have not found too many thin belts that are well done, and I really like the mini pewter-colored buckles and metal tipping detail on these.
Gavin and I were exploring the Torridwear store last night which I think is hands-down one of the coolest builds I think I've ever seen. You can stroll down a lit-up runway, chill and shop in the "backstage" curtained-off area (littered with several $1L gift bags, with everything else on sale) + scoop the 2 free pose gifts. There's even a movie theater refreshment stand. We noticed our gray-toned, black and crimson-hued looks were somehow fitting with the boudoir-like decor + we were inspired to snap some pics.
Torridwear's couples poses are sexy yet sweet, i.e., totally fun to try out without feeling like you are breaking some public decency laws. (Not that I'm against trashy behaviour per se, but there's a time + place). As you can see, Gavin has a natural flair for drama.
Gavin is wearing one of the nicest men's gifts right now, the 2-tone gray free gift from Samsara. This simple, block-color style is clean and modern, and the short V-neck is such a classic look for men. My crimson corset and black lace top comes from an exquisite minidress I found at Inimitably Design. The lace-up back and highly-detailed, wrinkled textures are simply gorgeous, and the lace texturing on this piece is hands-down some of the finest lace work I've ever seen on the grid. (Btw this top is fantastic when layered underneath a corset; you get a peek-a-boo lace bodice effect which is sooo sexy. You can check out that look here).
The hair I'm wearing is one of the brand-new styles from Hair Oh, a boutique which is quickly becoming a new fave of mine. Love the elegant, coquettish styles there + how even the newest designs are a very reasonable $100L.

Christmas in Leather, With Discerning Reindeer

I realize that it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but as everyone knows, the end of Halloween signals . . . the next commercially viable holiday! Today BluestarRUI Villota sent out a notice about the new Love*Soul Christmas store, which turned out to be an enchanting place. Fluttering snowflakes, button-eyed reindeer, $1L gifts . . . what better way to leap (early) onto the inevitable holiday bandwagon?
This black strappy leather jacket might not be traditional winter gear, but it's sure smexeh. It was also free courtesy of Luna's Boutique's MM board. This group-only MM board changes often + the count is typically very low (like, 20) so there's guaranteed quality time with Lag Monster every time you go. So totally worth it tho'. Love the asymmetrical buckles straps going across the bodice + waist.
These black satin ballet platforms at Maitreya called my name. When I saw them, I was all, Homina homina homina come to mama. (Fashionistas -- you know what I'm talkin' about). These were a 'natch with the ballerina lace-up ribbon socks from Noju, which come with a pretty 3-D shadowing effect.
Here I am with my new reindeer friends. I tried a sexy pose or two, but they were just too cool for school. I suppose if you're a Santa's reindeer, you've pretty much seen it all. I mean nothing seemed to faze these guys. Even my booty pose left them totally unaffected.
I did blow them a kiss or two tho'. You can't tell here, but they really warmed up a lot after that.
I must've won them over 'cuz they even let me hold their babies. Twins! Teeny golden bells! Cheek blush that goes over fur! Awwww. *faints, dies*
My new reindeer bff Rudy even let me hop on for a li'l flying ride. Here I was trying out a coupla riding positions. Unfortunately when it comes right down to it, there's no easy way to rock a fashion pose on a moving reindeer.
My new reindeer crew wanted to meet some of my human friends, so 2 of my fave people on the grid, Gavin McGinnis + Dorothy Button, dropped in for some sleigh posing action. How gorgi does Dorothy look in this furry snow princess hat? She slays the smexeh glasses look like no other.
On the other hand, this is moi in glasses. Not quite as hot, eh? And these were some really cute ones that my friend Linda Mensing found for only $15L too. Gavin suggested I wear them whenever I need to pretend to stay awake. Perfect for RL conference calls.
