Midnight Deersnatching.

There's nothing like a li'l midnight deer snatching session to start the new year off right.

Actually Bambi + I go waaay back: most people don't realize that Bambi is like, this total gangsta in the woods -- he's a major apples dealer (that's deer crack, to all of you non-woodsy folk who don't know). So this was just me helping him take care o' his nightly bizness rounds (midnite is the only time he can sneak away from all his prancing around + looking adorbs stuff).
 
In other news, I am so beyond excited it's a new year! My resolution for 2014: to have a damn good time, as much as possible. Hehe.

Cheerful Chilly.

And now a break from Shoetopia 2013 coverage to show you a few cheerful things that have been keeping me warm during these chilly days: this off-the-shoulder, buttery yellow sweater by DRIFT; a golden triple-chain necklace (that I'm wearing here as a headband) by Boom, and some free caramel java to hep keep warm. -- Plus aren't these free tights a find? I luhs this modern geometric cutout pattern, which worked so nicely as a stylistic foil against these Victorian lace-up boots by Beetlebones (you'll find these at Collabor88; even amidst all your shoe choices this month, these meticulously-textured boots are a true gem -- 'specially if you're a tall, lace-up boots kinda girl like moi).


And here's a better look at this youthful "Elvi" skin by Glam Affair, which is totes the epitome of "fresh-faced" (plus the subtly glossy, utterly pouty lipsticks on this particular skin are just gorge). Some free cinnabon earrings, a sprinkling o' frex + some shiny, clear eyes (these, of course, are by Ikon) and I look just as innocent as can be. Hehe.

Sweet Treats.

Instead of bemoaning how utterly late I am to post these pictures (you can thank the @#$! upcoming holiday season, which is already upon me + my li'l RL jewelry biz), I'll settle for showing you some sweet finds from the latest round of Collabor88, which I paired with the newest sleek fedora hat hair by Truth + these freakin' fabby ankle boots + leather-strapped stockings by JD that you can (hopefully still) nab for free (e.g., 1 of the nicest free finds this year to date).

And sometimes orange jelly beans are just tres necessary in life. Hehe.

If you don't know creator Charming Meiler's u.f.o. brand by now, you should absolutely go scoopie this uber-feminine, belted sweaterdress at Collabor88, which is both long + short enough to wear together with jeans (or you just go undies for a nottie look). Smelly Detour.

When finding oneself lost in the sewer pipes, it helps to have goggles (for mysterious wet things that might spray you), boots (for stepping in mysterious wet things) + a popsicle (to distract from the smell). Also, a  feisty elephant guide ('specially one with a perky bowtie) are the best guides for helping find your way out of the drains.
Hmmm. It's possible that I got a dud.

Taking the Plunge.

It seems that some of us are too scared to take the plunge, even in poolside waters.
These latest cap hairs by Truth are perfect for adding a touch o' no-fuss casual summer style (how fitting would these be for summer with some denim cutoffs + your fave tank)? I'm showing the shorter one (which is actually a men's style) above together with a pretty free striped dress by OrsiniRed (yet another talented blogger's inworld imprint) + some other fun freebies that are yours for the taking, courtesy of the ongoing plethora of current hunts.

I also had to show you my newest absolute fave dark eye, this beguiling "Darkstar" shade in Ikon's latest "Ascension" line. -- Mysteriously ombre + rich in color (despite the dark hue; something that's quite rare in dark eyes) with hints of indigo, and full of realistic shine, I loved wearing this eye against a tomato-red lipstick + thick lashes.

Creator Onyx LeShelle's newest designs satisfyingly deliver on the shopperista anticipation that always surrounds the newest releases for her iconic Maitreya brand.
One thing I always appreciate about the Maitreya releases is the consistent, oh-so-easy elegance: creator Onyx LeShelle's designs are never fussy or overworked, focusing instead on what all fashionistas know makes all the difference: a close attention to detail. Check out the realistic "folds" of the drapery in these tops, and just a hint of shadows on the teensy straps of the feet (it's also fun that you get tons of color + texture combos on the straps + the platforms, making it easy to tailor any look).

Baby Blues.

With the winter's first flurries tumbling thru NYC's freezing streets last night, I couldn't help but dream of fresh baby blues + soft pinks of the coming Spring. 
I wouldn't be much of a fashionista if I didn't show you these teeny tiny, ridic delicious rivets on the back of these new "Lira" pumps by Baiastice. This kind of lovingly obsessive attention to detail most def gives me the warm + fuzzies.

The opening of a new installment of Collabor88 always brings fresh shopping excitement to the grid, and this month's round offers some striking palettes in modern metallic tones.
This silvery look incorporates soft deer browns + just a hint of pinks; a  pretty, heavy bangs long hairstyle softened up this look. -- Plus check out this blingy diamond jewelry by Yummy. How fun to resize your diamonds to as large as you want! Since you rarely see pear-shaped gems inworld (or resizeable ones in RL, for that matter!) this was a particularly fun find for me.
