A Nip In the Air.

I find it interesting that as SL clothing becomes more "realistic" with mesh, we're encountering more "RL" issues with fit (picking the right "size" + making sure alpha layers wear correctly). Take this new "jumpsuit" dress by Ricielli, for example: loved the dress; hated how the alpha layer erased the tops of my thighs (luckily, it took all of a few seconds to find a House of Fox alpha that worked like a dream). -- I also noticed that a certain mammilla body part was having quite a big day out; a quickie Photoshop fix was in order -- until I realized that no one else should be as surprised as I was about this (rather important) aspect of this otherwise lovely dress. So, I hope you'll forgive a teensy bit o' immodesty today. Heh.
I'm also showing the other new style that debuted by Truth this week, this gorges headband "Helia" shoulder-length 'do, featuring these gently mussed, side parted bangs; I added a fancier cameo headband by Tram for a gold hardware touch, to offset these bright hues. -- Plus aren't these semi-sheer leggings so darling? They're from Le Poppycock + yet another testament of how nobody does vintage floral prints like this brand.

Lazy Afternoon

I was feelin' like a loungin' lazie today, so I headed straight for my fave banana chaise lounge for a sunny afternoon laze.
The new "Nolene" side pony style by Truth + a fluffy new cardigan by Fishy Strawberry for Fashionably Late, plus this free indigo-tinged tutu, free antique bustier by The Sea Hole (you can grab tons o' colors in an under-publicized hunt at Collabor88), $1L stenciled tights + $15L quilted Chanel purse (thanks Dorothy for the tip!) let me laze around in style.
1 of the great joys of Flickr is encountering some truly talented peeps, and I'm thrilled to show you this new "Mitsuko" face by The Skinnery. Creator Umazuma Metaluna has debuted a unique beauty for anyone wanting a li'l something different: her soft but stern face features high cheekbones + pouty lips that scream fashionista, with soft + wearable makeups that go with just about everything. -- I just luhs the shape of these lips; so so so high fashion.

Happy Hairs, Happy Heads

So the big hair news is that creator Asuka Martin of Dernier Cri has opened a new hair store with creator Sharifa Morenz. I've always loved Asuka's fresh, youthful styles; this lovely "Lena" side pony is 1 of my new faves. *mwuahs Asuka Martin*Asuka's big, bouncy curls -- kinda her trademark -- are simply the. smex.
Btw these dresses I'm wearing are creator Chrystina Noel's special items for Fashion For Life; I really like casual dresses, and Chrystina's Riddle brand has some of the prettiest prints I've seen. *mwuahs Chrystina Noel*
My thing for barrette hairs caused this tousled "Milliseth" style to catch my eye immediately; the strands of hair just barely falling onto the face is tres feminine + coy.
This Snow White print dress is free via the current hunt at Euphoria (fair warning: I saw a visible gap between the top + the skirt, but this could've been just on my shape). Luckily, these cheerful froggies didn't seem to mind.
Personally I think these hairs are some of the nicest blacks + browns on the grid (as you can see, I couldn't bring myself to take 'em off). -- This rawrrry pink top + adorable A-line skirt by Emery are a steal at $70L for the whole ensemble. Hunts will come + go, but the fashionista in me was so tickled by the name of the newest hunt organized by our friends at LP Design + Garage that I just had to shamelessly crib it for this post title. *double mwuahs Liberty Shinn + Slava Parkin*

The "Fashion Is Love" hunt kicked off yesterday here + there's tons of yummies free for the scooping (check the list of participating stores at the hunt blog site here). -- I was in a mood for neutrals, so I'm showing gifts that offer 2 takes on gray: slate + silver, both inspired by this free gray headband hair that's newly free at the Kik lucky board.
This first slate gray minidress by Sassy Kitty is clean + simple (I've been in a modernist fashion mood lately, so I left off the ripple skirt prim), which is also the perfect canvas to show off this oversized heart pendant by Garage. -- To this RL jewelry designer, this ruby-red gem is rather like collarbone candy. Yums.
This romantic dress by A&A Fashion swings waaay over to the other side of the style spectrum. Teeny tiny beading + a daringly asymmetric, lace-trimmed waist is what makes this daring concoction straddle that smexeh line between lingerie + clothing. I absolutely fiend for pieces that blur this stylistic line; plus the sheer fabric texture + hems trailing into the tummie make it tres couture. And don'tcha just love it when the color of a garment heightens the overall sense of a piece? This wispy, silvery color totally plays up the super-delicate feel of this semi-sheer look. To. Die.

I was also struck by these "Ladybug" pumps, which come courtesy of furniture (!) store MB-CreationZ. Their monthly subscribo gifts are always the cuteness + these pumps really do remind me of the kind of detail this store has become known for in their furniture. I'm diggin' this pretty sage green hue too. Awwws.

Dress Up Friday

It's hard to find simple designs that are really superbly made. This stunning gown by Designing Nicky Ree is unbelievably free + I love the confidence of this clean style: a single seam, running vertically down the torso, trails down into a subtle darkening of fuscia color + a darker, prism-like purple hue. It's like wearing a shimmering jewel.
The latest free AY.LinE hair gift + some gorgeous free pink bracelets by Sigma added simple flair. Such a simple design was the perfect canvas for setting off beautiful jewels, like one of my favorite ruby necklaces by Donna Flora. (Btw sorry these images aren't perfect, RL job demanded that I had to upload ASAP! Grrrr).


I also scooped this $50L Fridays dress by a designer that is new to me, Casa Del Shai. The texture on this dress was so shimmery + pretty that all it needed was pair of dangly earrings for chic summer style. I'm also showing the tres fabby Glam Affair "Sofia" skin line that I love with a beautiful peacock-like eyeshadow.

The Hunt for Those Effin' Red Clogs

What do you get when you combine scrumptiously baked textures, hidden apartments + 1 fabby pair of missing red clogs? Why, a li'l SL adventure made just for us fashionistas.
Some of SL's best designers have taken up hidden "residence" in the brand new Saikin SIM (the Saikin + Boom stores are on the ground level). Several floors of half-open, mostly closed doors hide secret "apartments"; cam around to find crazy detailed builds inside, like these glowy DJ decks in this abandoned car garage.

I must've over-indulged a teeny bit prior to all this SL exploration. Luckily, a golden toilet + spinning disco ball bathroom made this private moment tres glam.
Ahhh my own grassy patch, right next to the facilities -- with a shower + bubbles! How convenient.
Since I was in a casual girlie explorer mood, I slipped on the free subscribo gift by Trashy Girls In Style.
