The Glam-Pire Diaries, Vol. 2: Top Vampire Chef

Tay Wycliffe here, Tesh's vampire cousin. Tesh went on yet another of her shopping sprees *rolls eyes* so she asked me to take over for another post.

Luckily I've just been accepted as a contestant on the vampire world's newest TV sensation, Top Vampire Chef. Basically, a bunch of us ambitious foodie vamps compete each week to prove who's got bloody culinary game.
My main rival is a pesky know-it-all, Gary McGinnis. -- That Gary thinks he's such a much. He makes these avant-garde things like blood mousse and blood sorbet. -- Puh-leeeze! If we vamps wanted that frou-frou nonsense we'd all be drinking dandelion wine instead.

The other contestant is a talented girl who I really like, DreamBloodAngel Larnia (altho' the network, Vampire Television or VTV, tried to make us girls catfight with each other like, all the time. They gave that up after I scary hissed at them).

I should also probably mention that our famous TV show host, Tom Co-Leechy-Yo, is somewhat biased against me ever since I observed that his shiny, dome-like appearance strongly resembles that human hygiene icon, Mr. Clean. Some immortals are so sensitive! Sheesh.

Now to the kitchen, where things are really cookin':

Tom Co-Leechy-Yo: "Listen up contestants. This week, your Quickfire Challenge is to create that trickiest of vampire delicacies: a blood pudding. You have 30 minutes. Go!"
Gary: "I'm doing an avant-garde take on the traditional blood pudding, Tom, which we all know is really just a fried blood clot. Instead I'm making a frothy blood mousse, served in a delicate brain membrane. I'm pretty confident about this Quickfire Challenge, Tom."

Tom walks over to me with a slightly hostile look on this face and snaps, "And you? What are you making?"
"I'm sous-vide-ing some rich, chunky veins for my blood pudding, Tom," I say smugly. "I just know the nice contrasting textures will totally impress the judges."

But what's this? Tom is no longer listening 'cuz he's busy asking DreamBloodAngel out on a date! Heeeey wait a minute, is that even allowed?
The next thing I know, Tom is announcing:

"DreamBloodAngel Larnia -- you are Top Vampire Chef!"

The TV studio erupts into utter chaos! Dream screams with delight. The entire audience is whooping and cheering. Gary looks like he's ready to throw frothy blood mousse at both Dream and Tom. But I can't pay any attention anymore 'cuz I get totally distracted by a juicy noob human who's somehow made his way into the audience. Forget all these cooks in the kitchen -- it's dinnertime!

Taking Over the World. . .1 Donut at a Time (My First Post!)

Hi, Gavin here. Those of you who might've seen my name before might know me as one of the manshionistas of SLexy (or at least that's what Tesh likes to call us male models) but now I'm going to open my mouth and prove I'm more than just a pretty face.

Exploring the many SIMs in SL I ran across this awesome donut cannon. Yes I said Donut. Cannon.Strapping on this monster started giving me visions of taking over the world. As in, blasting anyone who got in my way. With donuts.

Loaded up with everything from powdered donuts to my favorite (the almighty glazed donut) I was successfully TP'ing from SIM to SIM, donut conquering everywhere I went. All was going to plan until I ran into my favorite fashionista and blogger extraordinaire, Tesh.
She was armed with the only known defense, a can of Flattery Salmon. This can of flattery salmon is very powerful. It distracts an unsuspecting victim with flattering pick-up lines to move in and disable them.
As Tesh approached me I heard stuff like this:

"For a moment I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Now I see that I am very much alive and heaven has been brought to me."

Then another one:
"If I received a nickel for every time I saw someone as stunning as you, I'd have five cents."

And this:
"Excuse me, I'd like to have kids someday, and I wanted to know how your parents created such a beautiful creature."

I became so distracted by all the flattery that before I knew what happened, Tesh had pinned me on the ground and knocked the donut cannon out of my hands. Thanks to a fashionista, the SL world was safe again to travel.

A Kook-y 'Kini Adventure

Summer's in full swing, which means that 'kinis are everywhere on the grid. I fell in love with this shiny sky blue one by Mimikri at the ongoing Dressing Room sale + the pareo wrap that came with it. A tousled, summery hair + some free color change flip-flops by In Her Shoes + I was ready for some waterpark fun.
Here's me rockin' a li'l pose at the Kook waterpark. -- The Kook build is really striking, with lots of evocative spaces for shooting against a water background (think lonely pieces of asphalt floating in the ocean, abandoned for no reason). -- Shopping tip: this SIM is also home to the stunning Crownling furniture store, a must-visit for any Y's House fans (i.e., cuter anis + better builds than usual; see the pic in the Styling Credits below for just 1 couples ani example).

This 'kini put me in a SL explorer mood, so I grabbed Gavin to poke around the rest of the Kook SIM. Here we were popping into the beautiful Regenboog sky home, which was filled with sunlight streaming thruout this pretty work studio. -- This was me having a nice li'l sulk at the worktable. Heh.
Back on the ground, we found a modern glass home floating in the ocean. This thing was way minimalist: only a couple of chairs, some falling rain + a single painting were inside. (That's us teeny weenies inside, gazing at the art).
We also found a giant turntable, just hangin' out in the sea for no reason. A lone wooden stool was handily situated for some quiet reflection. (You could also buy that random box next to me for free).
Finally, some chillaxin' with our good friend + fellow SLexy crew member Rene Caerndow back at her place. We were actually lucky to catch her between gigs (Rene has been a busy bee, what with all the art gallery owning + clothes making + all). -- As you can see, we ladies put Gavin straight to work with the shopping bags. He was a good sport about it tho'.

These looks were built around the free rolled-waist white denim shorts that the lovely Emma Gilmour of Surf Couture has set out at her Le.Look! location. *mwuahs Emma* This warm golden brown bob hair is newly free by Uncle Web (love the height at the crown; such a smexeh touch) which just works really well with this fantastic skin tone. The white thermal $1L top + free scarf-tied shoulder bag are both finds from Tres Blah.
Check out these free angel's wings by Boom, featuring this unique trailing "back necklace" which falls down the contours of the back. Like this skin, there's something way cute but hellaz sexy about this unique piece.
The jewelry I'm wearing is the newest free jewelry gift from Ganked's subscribo. Just can't seem to get enuff of Misti Merryman's bold statement looks; plus these turquoise pieces are marbled + textured so perfectly.
This 2nd look features the new Vive9 skin gift which I think is done really well. There's lots of options in this gift (teeth/no teeth; frex/no frex + various tones) so if you demo this skin + it works well with your shape, the $150L group join fee is totally worth it since this group gives skin gifts on a regular basis. -- There's an innocent yet curious face going on here that I like. Casual Friday

I've been in a major minidress mood lately + wanted to show a quick look I threw together mostly as a hooray since I finally got the Junwave lucky board to show me some love. -- Now I realize that the writing on the side of this cap might be whatevs, but this hat hair is still tres cute.
I didn't realize it, but Junwave has a whole wall of $20L gatcha games (random gift giver). It's along the same side of the store as the Profile Picks rewards (to the right, when you walk in). My $20L got me this cute white skully wristband, which totally fit my mood with this look. The smoky purple rose ring is another gatcha at Mocha (for $10L per play), where you can win all sorts of rose, heart + gem rings in fun colors.
I've been seeing this Glam Affair necklace on the feeds paired with more dressed-up looks, but to me, this chunky gold chain accented with these way fun white and gold stars begged for a more chillax style. I also liked how this $1L navy blue tattoo echoed the deep, rich hues of the dress.
The tiny cherry red heart pendant necklace I'm wearing is part of the new Valentine's Day $1L gifts set out at Mayden Couture. This necklace features tiny little metal studs that give off a subtle sparkling effect + comes with matching earrings with the same sparkle. (They have 4 gift bags here, including some pretty "bow" lingerie + some stuff for men too). Gotta love the whole layering the necklaces thing.

Stripes have been popping up all over the grid lately + we fashionistas have been gobbling 'em up like the fresh roasted turkey meat that we's a-gonna be enjoying in a few weeks. With stuffing + sides. Yum.
Twisted & Spoiled's newest group gift is this striped deep V-neck tank + these superlow-slung, unbuttoned jeans. I'm really digging this dark, smoky plum color. This store's gifts are always so generous (typically including an accessory or three); this time it's a corded leather necklace with cute beads that totally works with this casual look.

I've been liking the body "glow" on the free Bishwear skin gifts + this one is no exception. (It's hard to tell, but the dark eye makeup lightly "runs" at the corners -- such a smexeh touch). I love how this warm, light latte skin tone totally works with today's $50L Fridays hair from Lamb. Aren't these heavy fringe bangs supaflirty? I love today's stripey scarves from Artilleri for $50L Fridays. You get 2: the peachy melon + the silvery blue/cherry combos are so yums.
In other news, I have found my new favorite shoe: the brand-new open-toe "Boudoir" bootie by Kalnins. OMG do I heart these. The heel-to-shoe ratio is pencil-thin smexeh and I drool over these luscious, suparealistic textures. The color-change HUD is the joy for those of us who love to obsess about color details. *drives me-self crazy with seemingly infinite color combos nom nom nom*
The next Ode To Stripe is a flirtatious green number I found at SK Designs. This sexygear store has bordering-on-scandalous designs + a whole discount area on the top floor near the lucky chairs. I paired this sweater with the playful, raspberry-striped Strayer scarf, complete with little-girl star patches + large stitching seams. It's superflowy when you wear it too, which makes wearing it way fun.
This $50L outfit came complete with pretty thigh-high striped wooly socks. The ribbony stripes are so pretty+ I love the bare midriff. Who says winter has to be practical? Not me! I also added shiny black stomping boots + this free supacute gold-striped "corset purse" from House of Sanu.
Winter Moon's store closing has many people shedding a few tears, including moi. *sniffs* Everything is now $50L + there are some good finds here. This $50L "Scrum" dress is ripped in multiple places + even comes with its own holey stockings. I've been living for these Fishy Strawberry torn net ones however (love how the long, single seam crawls right up the hiney) so I paired those with this dress instead.
Don't even get me started on these N-Core superhigh schoolgirl heels with ruffled white anklet socks. I've had them forever and they are still. The. Smex.
We never do this, but Gavin + I did the matchy-matchy thing last night. I'm wearing a free Djunk dress that's not new, but still remains one of the hands-down fiercest stripey finds right now (aren't these green & gray stripes delish?) Definitely go grab it if you haven't already; it also comes in several other eye-popping colors. (While you're at it, scoop everything else, at both locations. Everything. Is. Free. Your inventory might not thank you, but you will feel drunk with power).
Gavin has been eyeing this black & white striped polo from Sey + he finally scooped it last night. Doesn't he look amazing in it?
I love Sey's edgy-yet-elegant styles, especially for men. Something about their designs makes the hipster thing look totally flawless + elegant. This black belt is spot-on with this look (good job G! Hee). Gavin finished this look with his fave SoReal sneaks.
Too bad we didn't come upon any giant striped candy canes last night. We did, however, discover some giant striped pink teddy bears at Tigerclaw (another everything is free store).

YourSkin & YourShape created quite a buzz on the blog circuit last month when it gifted their absolutely fabby turquoise shoes + purse from its Illetes series. This month the free group gift is a chic black-and-white print purse with gold buckles. There's also a free double-ropes white pearl necklace and free matching earrings set -- both featuring shiny oval silver hardware loops -- that are to die. I really love how this store does the metal hardware parts so realistically.
These black lace-trimmed cuffs capris are free at the Burt Laundry store, which is permanently shuttering its doors and currently having a $30L + under everything sale. These coquettish shorts are so worth the 15 min camp. I paired them with this narrow, crimson-colored belt that I found at Kosh (6 colors are included for $10L). I personally have not found too many thin belts that are well done, and I really like the mini pewter-colored buckles and metal tipping detail on these.
Gavin and I were exploring the Torridwear store last night which I think is hands-down one of the coolest builds I think I've ever seen. You can stroll down a lit-up runway, chill and shop in the "backstage" curtained-off area (littered with several $1L gift bags, with everything else on sale) + scoop the 2 free pose gifts. There's even a movie theater refreshment stand. We noticed our gray-toned, black and crimson-hued looks were somehow fitting with the boudoir-like decor + we were inspired to snap some pics.
Torridwear's couples poses are sexy yet sweet, i.e., totally fun to try out without feeling like you are breaking some public decency laws. (Not that I'm against trashy behaviour per se, but there's a time + place). As you can see, Gavin has a natural flair for drama.
Gavin is wearing one of the nicest men's gifts right now, the 2-tone gray free gift from Samsara. This simple, block-color style is clean and modern, and the short V-neck is such a classic look for men. My crimson corset and black lace top comes from an exquisite minidress I found at Inimitably Design. The lace-up back and highly-detailed, wrinkled textures are simply gorgeous, and the lace texturing on this piece is hands-down some of the finest lace work I've ever seen on the grid. (Btw this top is fantastic when layered underneath a corset; you get a peek-a-boo lace bodice effect which is sooo sexy. You can check out that look here).
The hair I'm wearing is one of the brand-new styles from Hair Oh, a boutique which is quickly becoming a new fave of mine. Love the elegant, coquettish styles there + how even the newest designs are a very reasonable $100L.
