Curio creator Gala Phoenix recently passed me her new "Ice Queen" skins + I must say that I'm really diggin' this face, which to me is a spot-on blend of both innocent + smexie. You get the glossy, sticky lips that made her "Yum" series so poutylicious; true to the name, the superpert nose is slightly upturned, for extra snooty effect. *mwuahs Gala Phoenix*
I couldn't find an actual blue-colored bird to go with the poem below, but I've been meaning to build a look around these free ice blue ballet slipper shoes by Deviant Girls (aren't they gorges?)
A $30L dark sky blue gown by GL Designs (the entire store is on sale for $10L, $20L or $30L for a limited time) suited this bluebird look nicely.

Earlier this week, rbcg creator Kyrsten Jigsaw sent out a notice that she was suddenly closing her store. For a few days this week, she left out this utterly fabby um, attachment which Gavin + I couldn't resist picking up. The contrary girl in moi wanted to show you this notty thing alongside the latest innocent girlie braids hair by Truth. *adjusts self*
Btw this post title is courtesy of Gavin (i.e., this was how G attempted to justify our outfits to um, more normal people). Heh.
In other news, I finally managed to win the free animated "Jamming Mic" from the stubborn Libber's lucky board, which was sooo worth the stalk. Dress Up Friday

It's hard to find simple designs that are really superbly made. This stunning gown by Designing Nicky Ree is unbelievably free + I love the confidence of this clean style: a single seam, running vertically down the torso, trails down into a subtle darkening of fuscia color + a darker, prism-like purple hue. It's like wearing a shimmering jewel.
The latest free AY.LinE hair gift + some gorgeous free pink bracelets by Sigma added simple flair. Such a simple design was the perfect canvas for setting off beautiful jewels, like one of my favorite ruby necklaces by Donna Flora. (Btw sorry these images aren't perfect, RL job demanded that I had to upload ASAP! Grrrr).


I also scooped this $50L Fridays dress by a designer that is new to me, Casa Del Shai. The texture on this dress was so shimmery + pretty that all it needed was pair of dangly earrings for chic summer style. I'm also showing the tres fabby Glam Affair "Sofia" skin line that I love with a beautiful peacock-like eyeshadow.

The Hunt for Those Effin' Red Clogs

What do you get when you combine scrumptiously baked textures, hidden apartments + 1 fabby pair of missing red clogs? Why, a li'l SL adventure made just for us fashionistas.
Some of SL's best designers have taken up hidden "residence" in the brand new Saikin SIM (the Saikin + Boom stores are on the ground level). Several floors of half-open, mostly closed doors hide secret "apartments"; cam around to find crazy detailed builds inside, like these glowy DJ decks in this abandoned car garage.

I must've over-indulged a teeny bit prior to all this SL exploration. Luckily, a golden toilet + spinning disco ball bathroom made this private moment tres glam.
Ahhh my own grassy patch, right next to the facilities -- with a shower + bubbles! How convenient.
Since I was in a casual girlie explorer mood, I slipped on the free subscribo gift by Trashy Girls In Style. This striking floral print short set (with adorable mini-gold belt included) was just perfect for some fashionista wanderings. A free double bangles set by Sigma Jewels (you get a free pink set included too) + free lace-up driving gloves by Butterfly Effectz finished this look.
There's many gifts thruout these crazy apartments (don't miss the free skybox in one of 'em -- it's the one with the fancy paintings). I also loved the apartment by creator Chocolate Arashi of Couverture, where you can buy all the clothes hanging in the closet. Make sure to scoop this pretty plant for a mere $20L (how cute is the stenciled pot on this thing)?
Some of the rugs are tricky when you click on 'em. I was lost in headhphones land, so I didn't even notice until I got rolled up tight. Hee.
My search for those free Saikin red clogs was quickly turning into temper tantrum time when when my manshionistas came to the rescue with their superior clog radar skills (awww thanks dudes)! *mwuahs Ethan + G* Here's SLexy Fashionista model Ethan Kanahoe enjoying a bunneh moment in this toy-strewn apartment (this bed had a really cute animation in it).
Finally, the elusive free cherry red clogs! Check the Styling Credits for the best hint I can give ya. -- Fair warning: they're a li'l bitch to find. But: the exploration here really is exquisite, plus these clogs are so totes worth it. I mean just check out the wooden wedge heel! Yummies.

To Our Friend Kaori, The Sadist.

It's with tremendous sadness that I am sharing with you that my friend creator Kaori Masala will be leaving SL + closing her fabulous dEVOL store on May 31, 2010. -- Kaori calls herself a "sadist" (+ will giggle as she tells you that) since she loves SL + knows she will miss it, but she needs to focus more on her RL. (Boy did I throw a mighty temper tantrum when I learned all of this).
In honor of the store's closing, everything at dEVOL is now 50% off. These hot pink fishnets, tattoo, black "hoodie" shrug + jean shorts I'm wearing are all by dEVOL (I really luhs the texturing work on dEVOL's jeans + these lace-topped fishnets are the fierceness). -- I paired this look with a free motorcycle vest by Kamikaze (there's a killer Asian script detail on the back of this vest that makes it something special).

The bouncy big hair I'm wearing thruout this post is a $30L steal by Kik (there's a few $30L styles laid out that are cute!) Gettin' Lucky at Cherry Girl

The lucky boards at Cherry Girl have rotated in some nice newish gifts, all of which exude this store's tastefully sexy aesthetic. Check out some of the free goodies that I was lucky enough to win here.
I absolutely luhs this party dress. It's suuuperfloaty when you wear it (i.e., way fun) + the tiny lace edging just peeking outta the babydoll skirt bottom is so precious. Love the subtle ribbing texture on this bodice too. Plus unlike some of their pieces here, this skirt is mod (so you can shorten it). -- Ahhh so perfect for sunny porch loungin'.

Check out this unusual "red leopard" minidress. The skirt is so cute: slightly scrunched over the hip line and super short. I also like this unusual combo of a lace corset + a wrap look for such a small miniskirt. Red suede BAX knee-high boots were a 'natch with this look.
This jewel-toned periwinkle lingerie set totally caught my eye for its open lace texture + scalloped edging on the bra.
I've long been a fan of the Cherry Girl blonde hair. There's a bit of brightness added to these hairs, making these blondes look more like a warm honey blonde with brown lowlights in them. This is one of the free lucky board styles. See how nicely this color captures the light?

This new free sweaterdress by Pinky*Gals was the perfect reason to show off the playful new stars tattoo by Kaori Masala of dEVOL + a striking rosy-cheeked, girlie face skin by Tres Blah that I found at the underwater Melt installation.
The rest of this look is just comfy casual. This free gold and pink Paradisis purse has been in their subscribo forever + I finally remembered to work it into a pink look, LOL.
I'm so in luhs with this Lamb hair; that subscribo kindly sent out 2 colors of this style last nite. It's the ultimate heart-shaped face.
BP creator BettiePage Voyager is like a fun times machine. In addition to some oversized St. Patty's Day sketchbooks that you can hold, there's this free lovely foot bath in her BP group's Notices, just waiting to soak your tired feets. Steam + relaxed vibe included; those are either lemons or potato slices floating around in there. Pink towel included, that matches this look! Ahhhh.

I've Got A Hold Over You

Just to even out the emo overdose of "WUV" this week, Gavin + I wanted to show some couples poses that demonstrate um, the physical hold that one person can have over the other. LOL.

To get in the tough love mood, I slipped on the wicked new tattoo by Kaori Masala of dEVOL (it's a love poem, featuring miniscule handwriting that's etched onto the body). Here I am practicing my "ZOMG I HAD MY HANDS ON THOSE JEANS FIRST!" stretch. It's like fashionista yoga. It's all about method.
I paired this look with big baseball cap hair from Mirai Style (isn't it way fun?) + a casual tank from Alegria Designs, which caught my eye for its saturated, rich cherry red color. The yummeh candy cane mouth treat is included in the naughty ruffled undies $1L gift from Torrify. (I find that having minty-fresh breath really gives you the upper hand when telling off another crazed shopper).
Big bronze statement jewelry (new from Dark Mouse) completed this look. Check out how the ornate metalwork of this jewelry totally offsets the simplicity of this outfit.
Here's a back shot of these fabby jeans (notice how they're not ass-crackingly low). Here I'm standing next to my fave Christmas tree ever -- the sad little Charlie Brown one. Fair warning: this thing is over 50 prims. But hey, who wouldn't sacrifice a few pieces of furniture/prim count for such adorableness? Plus it's a total steal on XStreet for only $50L.
Btw here's where not to put a candy cane on other shoppers, no matter how frustrated you get.
I was checking out Pixel Mode's stunning new farmland SIM when I stumbled upon some rockin' poses. Any photogs with some spare $L should totally do a drive-by (the poses are located in the back of Pixel Mode's main building). I scooped a few, but there's lots of unusually sexy ones to be found (particularly in the laying down/sitting positions).
I won this free fabulously messy hair several times from the various MM boards by Alli & Ali + really liked this bed-tousled style with this casual look. This strawberry blonde hair color is so vibrant + totally shows how hair itself can be the most eye-catching accesory. Yes body parts as accessories! Works for me!
This little guy hiding on my shoulder is part of the free Snowflake Hunt gift (which includes a fur cap + fur bolero jacket) from B&T Atelier. Poor teddy was kinda shy (for some reason Gavin made him nervous) so I think he enjoyed peeking out occasionally from behind my long curtain of hair.
My best advice I can give this week to fellow shoppers: keep it cas (style-wise and mood-wise) and most importantly of all, remember to keep up your strength. Shopping can be such cardio -- all that necessary pushing + shoving can really work those arm muscles.

Speaking of which, me + my $L are so ready for this week's craziest $50L Fridays ever (45+ designers? Or more? Oh noes! Oh yes!) And I haven't even started on RL holidays yet!
