Butterflies & Bouffants.

Two of my fave brands on the grid, Truth + Tram, have new must-haves out this week that I styled for you today. Ponytail fans will love this new "Kiki" style, featuring several color-change bands, a poufy top section + a long gathered pony trailing down the front; plus how sweet is this scalloped-edge dress? The cute butterfly print drew a crowd amongst my new butterfly friends, hehe.
This knee-length dress also comes in white, and as always with the meticulous Tram brand, it's all about the details: check out the teeny tiny lace-up drawstrings in the back + the meticulous navy embroidery along the front. I'm also showing the smexpot new "Aurora" style as the other newness by Truth this week, which just shows that you can never have too much bouffant, in any life.

Femme Punk.

I have a friend in RL who is the most gorges girl you've ever seen -- as in, she could be plucked from a freaking Caravaggio or something -- but she's completely tatted out, as in, ink absolutely everywhere. She's constantly saying that she has to keep her style "femme" in order to offset her tats; this same "balancing" aesthetic between femme + punk is at play today in these 2 styles from Hair Fair 2012 shown here. Check out this edgy "Going Steady" style by Clawtooth (the shaggy chin-length front section hides a secret, skinny twisted knot piece trailing loosely down the back) + this edgy "shaved" side of the head "Aida" style by Wasabi Pills (the buzzed scalp offers such a striking contrast to the tres girlie braid falling down the side).

Pale Lips Sink Ships.

Some looks for you today that I shot last weekend (due to @#$!% RL have not been able to post until today), showing some lovely things from the new Collabor88 + the One Voice shopping event. Amongst my faves: these black leather shorts (!) by Tokodoki, these fabby thick-striped (the fat stripes are key) new stilettos by N-Core; this gorges nude keyhole minidress by Kyoot (which I loved with this edgy feathered "ear cuff" by Magic Nook); a sweet red cherries drawstring dress (on pink, yay!) dressed up with layers of strung necklaces; plus check out this sweet floral print dress by Baiastice, which is so flirty + perfect for hot days. Ahhh, summer!
Btw all of these feature new-ish skins with pale lip tones, which I think is tres appropro for summer. I'm particularly liking this nude-lipped redo of the "Elena" Laq skin at One Voice, featuring lush, full lips + a wide-eyed innocence in the face.

A SLexy Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I finished wrapping gifts (unexpectedly) early tonight, so I wanted to send all of our SLexy readers + bloggeristas some holiday cheer with this (admittedly rather boring) Xmas card. A Dash o' Winter White & A Smudge o' Coal Black.

My bundled-up look today features more splashes of winter white fitting for the snowy climes ahead, including this dramatic free zebra coat by PurpleMoon Creations + some new 2-tone peeptoes by Mstyle. In other news, I've fallen in luhs with a few free holiday finds that I thought were 'specially cute. Check out this free "ornaments mobile" silver wireframe tree (the li'l candy canes + gingerbread men actually twirl around!) How cozy to watch while cuddling up to this free flickering fireplace, decked out with pine cone candle stands, a Noel sign + a framed rabbit picture adorned with mistletoe too (I placed the picture in another part of our house).
This gorge free fruit potted plant is only 2 prims; it's yet another gift at the same place you can grab the ornaments tree. This is a great touch of color at a cheap prim cost; I tucked these little potted trees into the brick corners of our home.

I'm always on the lookout for hairstyles so timeless they're "for the ages," so to speak, and this week's new "Valeska" style by Truth is just that: soft, bouncy curls cut to a classic nape-length, for a natural, impeccably elegant touch to any look.
This 5th Avenue hair inspired me to put together some no-fuss chic appropriate for all the winter traveling up ahead, so I threw together this look via a few layers (the striped corset underneath is new for Project Themeory).
A yummy sale scarf by Miel (check the impressive "folds" in the drapery; so nice that you can color-change the fringe + scarf color too), the high-waisted Fishy Strawberry pants that make everybody's butt look tres fine + some free luggage (+ free passport) that I remembered in my inventory got me ready for my travels. -- This was just a pretty shot near some impressive cloud formations, heh.

So the big news in eventsland is the much-anticipated Vintage Fair kicking off on November 11th, hosted by Keira Seerose & Co. of CHIC Management. Here's a sneak peek of this freaking stunning Art Deco-ish dress by The Sea Hole, in that most quintessential of roaring '20s color combos: dove gray + nude, color blocked together in this deep V-neck bodice that practically screams Great Gatsby. The latest Donna Flora cameo 'n pave-encrusted jewels added a subtle sparkly touch.
*Photography tip of the day: Gavin found 1 of the most useful photog tools ever that I just had to share with y'all: a free wearable HUD that you can control your eyes with (it does other stuff too, like clench/release your fingers, etc.). No idea if everybody else already has this thing or what (it was new to me), but it works together with any pose + it's freakin' fantastico. Thanks to Gavin for this ZOMG awes tip!
