Summer Breeze.

Creator fever has apparently caught fire across the grid since there's been a veritable explosion of new releases in the last week. I'm showing you some cherry picks here: check out this dramatically long, "fat" herringbone motif skirt by Baiastice, which paired smartly with this simple yet classic cropped v-neck, bone-colored sweater (luhs the capped sleeves too); creator Moca Loup's long-awaited new release for her exquisite Tram brand (there's been so many "jumper"-type pieces surfacing recently for warmer weather, but this belted faded denim version is 1 of the cutest I've seen yet); and finally, some bright separates by Gloxx (pink + orange is such a luscious color combo; my fave Maitreya flip-flops were a 'natch for this beachy mood). The newest Glam Affair skin release for CHIC2, some fun new accessories by Izzie's (don't miss the free panda necklace!) + long charm necklaces Magic Nook, plus a new shortie auburn hair by Wasabi Pills rounded out these breezy summer looks.

Happy Year of the Dragon!

Truth District has been mobbed ever since the 50% off sale was announced this weekend. The fact that many Truth hairs are on sale is reason enough to run over (you gotta nab 'em at the Truth District location for the sale price), including this week's brand-new "Alexis" double ponys updo, offering just my kind o' whimsical girlie style.
One truly remarkable aspect about SL is how multi-cultural our community is -- and how easily we can all embrace diversity, at least in our individual style. Many creators are honoring the Year of the Dragon with adorable Chinese New Year gifties, like these paper cutout framed pictures free by bbqq; today's look also celebrates red as the traditionally lucky color, from this free cherry-striped mesh dress to the new cerise bloom earmuffs by Boom (something about this rich cherry color so reminds me of the Beats headphones I keep seeing on hipster heads around Manhattan).
In other news, if you haven't rolled around in a messy pool of spilled liquid recently -- well, you just haven't been embracing your inner video vixen. *strums air guitar, flicks more tea in hair*

Minted Geometry and other Visions of Shopping Madness.

This week's new "Blair" style by Truth has become my absolute fave cap hair to date, that is to say, I've been parading around in 1 of these slouchy caps in RL and damn, I wish it was color-change too. *mwuahs Truth Hawks*
I threw together today's look with some other things that I also wish I owned in RL, like this long, 2-tone coat by Teefy that's on sale at the latest TDR + this striped green top by Illusory (which coincidentally played nicely off the architectural lines around me). This pretty pink blush -- echoed in the coral booties + the pink collar necklace below -- is new by Esuga; I'm hoping to show you her pretty new "Chloe" skin soon (whenever I get a RL break already). -- Btw I suspect I did up this pic 'cuz I needed a peaceful shopping scene after my RL descent into utter shopping madness yesterday, i.e. pushing + shoving in the name of fashion at the Rag & Bone sample sale. Heh).

How To Arrive Fashionably Late

There's a new CHIC Management event kicking off every week, starting this Sunday at 4 pm SLT. Expect this new series -- smartly dubbed "Fashionably Late" -- to host the usual stellar roster of designers, including Fishy Strawberry creator Fae Eriksen, who's debuting this summery, club-ready sequin minidress that I loved in a frosted metallic hue. Mah girl Leona Olivieri has rebranded her I Ce Coco store to Mamboo Chic + set out this pretty pink-lipped skin as a $10L gift.
I picked a blonde shade of this week's new "June" heavy bangs Truth style to go with this light tan Barbie-esque skin. A 1-shoulder ruffled top at CH1C, some $15L Ricielli orange-nude heels + this finely-pleated coral print skirt by Emery finished this look.
Nuthin' like a li'l Weee! on the swings to blow off some shopaholic steam. -- I made Gavin come with me + he was super brave about it too; he's just a tad scared of swings.

We Have No Bananas Today (But Cheapies, Yes!)

Quickie retro-styled pic today to show you the newest "Lake" skin by &Bean, plus this dramatic new collar piece by Mood for the Accessories Fair (this blackened bronze texture is really something special). For those in a cheapies hunting mood, there's a new $15L hunt at Ricielli, where I nabbed this strapless bronze & black ruffle top (you can pick the items you want via a handy numbered prize listing out front). -- Btw I learned about this hunt on the store blog section of Style Academy; such a great resource for the latest stuff (including new gifts!) from the grid's A-list designers.
This shot also gives you a better look at the new "Danni" hair by Truth which I just can't seem to take off. These low mini ponys are tres supergirlie + just begging for an innocent, fresh-faced skin to go with. *mwuahs Truth Hawks*

As promised, here's another flavor of the Tram long shirt coats, this time in a farmgirl friendly red checkered print, which I paired with the gorges free white lace bodysuit from Diapop + some free white fishnets. -- This wasn't a poolside practical ensemble per se, but it worked just fine for some quality (blue Slurpee) time with Gavin. Heh.
I've been diggin' this new tomoto-red lipped "Circus" skin by MonS that I spied on the creator's Flickr, which I found tres jolie with this new, messy bangs "Cecilia" side braid by Truth.
