I mix 'n' matched this lace-bodiced top with some fun accessories (neon orange glasses, book charm & cameo necklaces, laurel wreath earrings + even a newspaper) + for this librarian-ish look today. You'll also be able to nab these 2-tone ankle boots at the upcoming CHIC Management event for mental health awareness, "Back to Black" (look for a more extensive post on that later). -- Plus I must say that I was also excited to finally be able to style this cute ear pencil into this tres studious look.

Chilly

This month's Collabor88 is a double-up affair: each creator was invited to bring a "prom date," meaning twice the amount of both stores + goodies on offer than usual. It's also a particularly choice selection, from this so so smex smoky-eyed Illusory skin to these freakin' gorge muffs by Boom (these scrunchy textures are tactile-esque realistic). This event has been jam packed; there have been some exceptional quality finds here for the discount price tag of $88L or less.
In RL, I would be sooo chilly in these looks; however, the whole scarf with bare arms thing is very much something I would wear in RL (I would just bring a coat, hehe).
These looks combine more $10L finds from the With Love Again Hunt by CHIC Management (you're searching for a red gift box) -- including some nice things in the home decor department. Check out this $10L retro toaster by Artilleri; it's so prettily textured (color-change too!) + not too bad a prim cost at only 10 prims. If only it popped out toast!

Ready . . . Set . . . Cute!

As promised, I wanted to show you the newest "Chloe" face by Esuga, featuring superpouty lips, a soft, supergirlie expression + the unique blend of smexeh kawaii that creator Eilfie Sugarplum has become known for. This week's new "Charmaine" bobbypins hair by Truth added perfectly mussed tresses to this winter-ready face.
I couldn't decide which I liked better, the fair or dark tones; either way, this skin's glowy complexion lends a lush, dewy feel, and the detail-ist in moi so appreciates the barely-parted lips option too (I think this wolf was trying to copy my pose here, heh).
Like a big chicken, I've been largely avoiding mesh stuff due to a li'l prob called Still Absolutely Loathing All the Mesh Viewers; still, I forced myself to get over it for this newest free pink uniform by Node, which I cute'd up with some free reindeer ears, a free curious pink cat + these $1L kneepatch leggings.
And now it's time to let my RL superbossy stylist have his way with me (or at least, my hair) for a bit. Finally, somebody else gets to be the stylist love + fashionista kisses to all!

Vintage Flair

Just another teaser on the upcoming Vintage Fair event by CHIC Management, this time in the form of a cerise halter gown by Icing, featuring this pretty black rose netted cap (look for plenty of vintage-styled goodies to accessorize looks too, like fishnetted caps, long gloves, etc). -- Btw this new "Delia" style by Truth is spot-on for all those vintage styles: these wavy tresses delicately "knot" at the back of the neck, perfect for demurely showing off pretty shoulders + capes.
A scrumptiously detailed pearl necklace dangling into the cleavage added a smex touch; a $5L double guns tattoo was just 'cuz (a girl's gotta have some 'tude in this girlie getup! Heh).

This promises to be a fun shopping event since the "vintage" styles are not just formal wear; look for more casual styles in upcoming posts too.

Happy (Sheer Nottie) Halloween!

There's a free deliciously floaty long dress up for grabs at the lush Deviant Girls waterland build (where I took this shot below), featuring some sheer nottieness happening in the rear parts.

The Truth of It All

So . . . the big shopping news this weekend is that Truth District is closing for a 2-day, members-only 50% off sale extravaganza (join the Truth District Update Group for free until Saturday, Oct 8, 12 pm SLT to get in). Expect oodles of sale goodies from the A-list lineup of stores there, including this fabby new "Fall" skin fatpack by Curio (!) for $500L.
Needless to say, Mr. Truth Hawks is also debuting some new styles to kick off the event, including this lovely "Isla" updo, each with its own precise hairbase for a perfectly "natural" match to each shade. You can find most of the items I'm wearing here at the Truth District sale; I added an oversized buckle bag for a military touch, some $50L scallopped print leggings + this nicely textured green jacket, which you can currently scoop for free at Pink Outfitters.
I'm also showing another new Truth hairstyle available this week, this shaggy "Hadley" bob style available exclusively at the Truth District satellite store, featuring a gorges roots option that I really like. -- These chunky drop earrings are the $4L Bliensen + MaiTai vintage gift at 4.44.444 that I mentioned in yesterday's post; the tusk necklace was a $1L find at Glow Studio, which I layered with some perky owl motif jewelry by Je Suis (these gems are color-change, so they literally go with just about everything).
*AND NOW FOR THE RANT: Dear readers, as you know, I rarely (if ever) use this blog to rant about anything, but we encountered something this week that I simply can't keep mum about. It has come to our attention that another store has recently began selling a hearts feets tattoo that is nearly identical in positioning, size, shape + otherwise extremely similar to our "Hearts of Queens" tattoo that we originally created for a blog post earlier this summer on SLexy Fashionista. Whatever the reason behind this incident in fact occurring, when Gavin tried to reach out to the creator to discuss it, what followed was some name-calling and fairly obnoxious commentary thrown our way, including some strong opinions about our (apparent) lack of intelligence. -- It's rotten enough to feel as if you've been pirated (regardless of whether or not that's what actually happened!), but this kind of (overly) aggressive behavior makes me want to FedEx these girls straight to that VH1 show where they teach hopeless souls some freakin' etiquette (Charm School). -- Don'tcha just love classy people? Ugh.

I'm A Barbie Girl

Mah girl Leona Olivieri has rebranded her I Ce Coco store to Mamboo Chic + set out this pretty pink-lipped skin as a $10L gift.
I picked a blonde shade of this week's new "June" heavy bangs Truth style to go with this light tan Barbie-esque skin. A 1-shoulder ruffled top at CH1C, some $15L Ricielli orange-nude heels + this finely-pleated coral print skirt by Emery finished this look.
Nuthin' like a li'l Weee! on the swings to blow off some shopaholic steam. -- I made Gavin come with me + he was super brave about it too; he's just a tad scared of swings.

Living For Layla

I never pegged myself as much of a contest person, but I've entered a couple recently + found that they're a great tool for dusting off the ol' Photoshop skills (i.e., teaching me how very far I still have to go). Since I'd been living in Glam Affair's "Layla" skin anyway, the photography contest presented an interesting challenge: how to style a tightly-cropped, face close-up in a compelling way. At the end of the day, I decided on using only my avatar's body parts (hair, eyes, lashes) to "frame" the skin in the most natural way possible, in order to let the skin's lovely incandescent "glow" truly shine. Take a look.


Btw this 2nd shot shows you this week's new goddessa "Leilani" headband style by Truth, which comes complete with tropical hair flowers (in an assortment of colors) + long, luscious, wavy locks. *mwuahs Truth Hawks*
