I Want My MTV.

Hopefully y'all are all caught up on the ratings-shattering TV phenom that was Empire's debut season (I just binge-watched the entire thing). That complete-with-smoke-machine cover of the original Dire Straights track was so utterly entertaining to watch (mostly 'cuz it showed old geezers gleefully rockin' out to the show's commercial hip-hop rendition of it), which seemed like a fitting segueway to the brand-new round that just opened at Collabor88, which similarly takes its theme from a classic '80s flick and punks it up a bit for a fun stylistic throwback today.
Now admittedly, the only stylistic misfits here are these thin, strappy, much more 2015 than the '80s stiletto sandals by Hucci, but I just couldn't resist their sleek, mile-high 'tude -- so I kept them on, hehe.

Listen, not many places will let you walk your pet panda around during the daytime, but the Gugg will. Vasilisa The Brave.

Some childhood tales stay with you forever, and this one* about a tiny magical doll that saved a girl from cruel circumstances (+ helped her become a princess) is one that still enchants me.

Glam Affair is debuting a fresh new face that feels noticeably different from recent past releases: the startling "Lauren" combines suuuper-pouty lips; thick, intelligentsia brows; youthfully wide-set eyes + an utterly gamine expression that makes you want to mutter something in French like Ooh La La.

I chose this heavy-banged, straight long "Ambrosia" hair by Truth to dramatically frame this fashionista face; a sleek new wool 1-piece dress by Fishy Strawberry + a tres minimalistic $1L gem drop lariat necklace completed this modern look.

The ever-iconic Glam Affair brand is re-opening its hair salon, and releasing a series of dramatic hair adornments in honor of the event. -- I couldn't resist showing you this peach-hued, blooms-strewn beauty (which struck me as both deeply feminine, yet unmistakeably regal), featuring these uniquely long, dangling coral beads + a triple thin gold headband adorning the crown. -- As I always say, there's nothing like a ceremonial headdress to make a girl feel like the ruler of her own dynasty.

Silver Foxette.

I couldn't resist strolling thru an Italian piazza today, which felt 'specially comfy in this casual new jersey dress by Maitreya + some pretty new silver-toned accessories that you can scoopie at the latest round of Collabor88.

The rich themes at Collabor88 are so much fun each month (this month: "Miami Electric!") that I deliberately wanted to style a more neutral-toned look, to demonstrate just how versatile this monthly event can be (which btw still remains 1 of the best shopping events on the grid). The dark teal nails are a $5L giftie (see the Styling Credits below), courtesy of a fabby nail hunt for SLink hands (how fun is that)! + my sparkly strawberry bubblegum comes in all sorts of fun colors (another Collabor88 find). -- Speaking of which, when was the last time you blew a bubble?
