Butterflies & Bouffants.

Two of my fave brands on the grid, Truth + Tram, have new must-haves out this week that I styled for you today. Ponytail fans will love this new "Kiki" style, featuring several color-change bands, a poufy top section + a long gathered pony trailing down the front; plus how sweet is this scalloped-edge dress? The cute butterfly print drew a crowd amongst my new butterfly friends, hehe.
This knee-length dress also comes in white, and as always with the meticulous Tram brand, it's all about the details: check out the teeny tiny lace-up drawstrings in the back + the meticulous navy embroidery along the front. I'm also showing the smexpot new "Aurora" style as the other newness by Truth this week, which just shows that you can never have too much bouffant, in any life.

Clair de Lune

A moonlight stroll with my new free sheep friend Woolimina convinced me to throw together a new tattoo, this time for the feets.

Wide Open Spaces

Hey SLexy fashionistas! Its Journey Lorakeet posting today. Tesh asked me awhile back if I could guest blog and I couldnt say no. She takes super cute pictures and affordable looks for you guys, so I hope I can do just the same. I put together todays look as "turning over a new leaf" in mind. The place I took these shots are from the beautiful LuLa sim , home of new collaboration, Mon Tissu. To fit in with the theme, I put together these pretty freebies to make it work.

Courtisane , just released the purple version of the Mari Lu boots for their subscribo members. The brown version Im wearing can be exclusively be found at Enkys Dollar Store , where my donna flora earrings are also from. Perfect place to get some freebies for only 1L. One of my favorite jewlery makers, Dark Mouse has released some new hairs and updated some of her older ones. She kindly set the Alex hairstyle free and you can buy the fatpack free too so, hurry up before it's gone.

Another store that has reopened with a new location is Doppelganger Inc. who has put out this tux dress as a gift. I hope this gets made in more colors because I wanted to wear it with everything. Another little store I discovered is *Latte* who has adorable fur coats, dolly dresses and these freebie jewel tight set you can grab off the wall near the entrance. My other accessories are from previous collections from the dressing room. Caramel

The big frugalista news last night was that Dark Mouse creator Mouse Mimistrobell decided to set 5 items down in her store to $0L for 24 hours. I got the notice yesterday evening (EST time), so you still have time to grab her fabby accessories today for free (the neighboring Miao store also has 5 nice items set to $0L; I'm wearing a mix of both here).
I built this apple-'n-pumpkin striped look around these free caramels (1 of my fave RL candies) that I nabbed at a cute "pumpkin patch" hunt (see the Styling Credits for deets). A new free striped jacket by Wave, a free geometric print body tat by Para + some more 2-toned new Truth hair finished this auburn-toned look.

A word about these nails: I've been on a hunt for shortie nails (since the prim ones can drive me bananas) so I was most def oooh-ing when I spied these red polka-dot ones at Tres Blah for a very reasonable $75L (you get 20 colors in the pack). Hot Diggity Dog

I was feelin' the whole prissy girlie thing today, so I grabbed this free polka-dot knee-length skirt + free ruffled collar sweater at Honey Kitty (the sweater comes via the new lucky boards; I have no idea if the skirt is old or new, but this demure look was tres fun to style). Some free double-row pearls by Dark Mouse + a free teetering processed meat treat made me think wistfully of ye olde carnival days.
The free Halloween kitty socks are from a mini-hunt at the Mocchi Mochi mini-mall that's kinda perfect for us hunt-challenged folk: basically, there's tons of pumpkins scattered around + 5 of 'em contain gifts (just click on all of them to see which ones you can "buy"). Catch the Tram

It's not often that a piece of virtual fashion will make me do a double-take, but the petal-like folds of this thick, organic drapery by Tram did exactly that.

Prep

Now that it's blistering hot, it's only 'natch to think wistfully of cooler climes. Here's me channeling that back-to-school vibe, a la any of those prep Gossip Girl biatches -- maybe with a touch o' downtown cool. O Blair, /me hearts you + your headband mafia 4evs.
I'm wearing a pair of free blinged out jeans by Ganked (OK, so maybe Blair wouldn't exactly do the whole rhinestones thing; Jenny perhaps?) + a girlishly sweet, cap-sleeved top for $1L at Willow.
This casual vintage styling is all about the accessories: a mini-fedora hat hair on sale for $50L by Kookie at The Dressing Room + a tres stunning triple-ropes pearl necklace + other chunky jewelry helped finish this look.
I had to show ya a close-up beauty shot of this utterly fabby oversized "Golden Wings" ring by Paper Couture, which my uber-stylish gf Dorothy Button was rockin' the other nite. As you can see, this oversized piece o' finger yumminess is To. Die. (You can also see why I had no choice but to pick up these ridic good snakeskin bangles at Atelier AM too).

Under A Neon Sky

SL exploration is one of the funnest things you can do in-world (esp if you have a souped-up laptop like me + can finally see permanently on Ultra, yay!)
The revised Sick5 has been getting some attention recently + I've been wanting to check it out. This rugged, burnt-out urban landscape, half-sunken into chunky broken asphalt, is simply a stunning build. Such a desolate vibe of course called for a ruffed-up pretty girl look, so I went with red plaid. And ciggie. Hee.
Just over there . . . I coulda sworn there was a lucky chair. Hmph.
I actually built this look around the new free Twisted & Spoiled jewelry gift, which is a simple black leather collar + silver necklace. The free Phoenix Rising skirt I'm wearing has already been all over the feeds; the store is currently having a 50% off black, red + white sale (i.e., where every fashionista seems to be this morning). I can't seem to take off this free lucsious red-lipped Eret!ka skin; a new "Sparkly Death" tote bag by Boom + some discounted Dark Mouse red plaid jewelry finished this look.

Year of the Tiger

The year of the tiger has a very special meaning for me culturally + many designers have such grrreat gifties out right now. I couldn't resist showing you at least a few.
I was tres excited to wear such badass tiger stripes + these free poses from the "Ruthless Tiger" martial arts fatpack at Niqotine totally got me in the mood. So way impressed with the top-notch quality of these sick martial arts poses.
Cower before the almighty tiger, you dog.
I'm so totally embracing my inner Jen here (a la Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, one of my absolute to-die favie movies of all time. -- Don't even tell me you haven't seen it, ZOMG).
These free tiger-striped gloves + leather black-striped leggings are from the lucky boards at Pop Feel. The subtle sheen on these leather leggings is the. smex.
Here, kitty kitty.
A few fashion extras made this look complete, like the Dark Mouse belly chain + these thin golden bracelets by Glow Studio. I thought this feathery "Sarana" hair from Truth + glowy skin from Laq were somehow fitting with this rawr look.

These free tiger-striped booties (complete with double gold buckles!) by GField are part of a very cool "herb hunt" that kicks off today. You are hunting for different varieties of green herbs; click on the sign here at the starting point at the Roman SIM to get a notecard giving hints for where each herb likes to "grow" (so cute!), which actually gives you great starting points. These GField booties are the "turnip" herb gift (hint: look just outside the SIM's church; hopefully the sLURL in the Styling Credits below will give you a red beacon).
*NOTE: this Haru no Nanakusa Hunt is only happening until 1/10 (Japan time) so if you like these booties, I would advise hunting for them as soon as you can.

Btw if you head to Pop Feel for the free tiger-striped gloves + leather leggings, make sure to scoop the oodles of other gifties on the freebies shelf inside the store, including a pretty strawberry plant + also the reason why I luhs this store forevs -- a free Oreo cookie pose stand which I thought they had retired but you can still grab here for free. It is the. absolute. cutest. pose stand I've ever seen. (We have two in our home).

Free Casual Mood by dEVOL (Jeans Included)

If you are like me and you get a special tingle whenever you get a free bit o' awesomeness from a MM board, scoot on over to Kaori Masala's dEVOL store, where the MM board is giving away these too-cool denim jeans free for group members. (Head downstairs + tap the sign to join the dEVOL group for $0L). Love how this dark blue-black denim plays against the lighter champange-colored wash. (I just checked + these jeans were on 23/55 as of the time of this post, so there's still time to grab 'em today!)
Aren't these scrummy? So great for your casual mood, yet this edgy fade says "Don't eff with me, I'm a badazz shopper." Perfect to get in the proper mindset for all the upcoming madness this Black Friday. Hee.

Here I am practicing my "ZOMG I HAD MY HANDS ON THOSE JEANS FIRST!" stretch. It's like fashionista yoga. It's all about method.
I paired this look with big baseball cap hair from Mirai Style (isn't it way fun?) + a casual tank from Alegria Designs, which caught my eye for its saturated, rich cherry red color. The yummeh candy cane mouth treat is included in the naughty ruffled undies $1L gift from Torrify. (I find that having minty-fresh breath really gives you the upper hand when telling off another crazed shopper).
Big bronze statement jewelry (new from Dark Mouse) completed this look. Check out how the ornate metalwork of this jewelry totally offsets the simplicity of this outfit.
Here's a back shot of these fabby jeans (notice how they're not ass-crackingly low). Here I'm standing next to my fave Christmas tree ever -- the sad little Charlie Brown one. Fair warning: this thing is over 50 prims. But hey, who wouldn't sacrifice a few pieces of furniture/prim count for such adorableness? Plus it's a total steal on XStreet for only $50L.
Btw here's where not to put a candy cane on other shoppers, no matter how frustrated you get.
I was checking out Pixel Mode's stunning new farmland SIM when I stumbled upon some rockin' poses. Any photogs with some spare $L should totally do a drive-by (the poses are located in the back of Pixel Mode's main building). I scooped a few, but there's lots of unusually sexy ones to be found (particularly in the laying down/sitting positions).
I won this free fabulously messy hair several times from the various MM boards by Alli & Ali + really liked this bed-tousled style with this casual look. This strawberry blonde hair color is so vibrant + totally shows how hair itself can be the most eye-catching accesory. Yes body parts as accessories! Works for me!
This little guy hiding on my shoulder is part of the free Snowflake Hunt gift (which includes a fur cap + fur bolero jacket) from B&T Atelier. Poor teddy was kinda shy (for some reason Gavin made him nervous) so I think he enjoyed peeking out occasionally from behind my long curtain of hair.
My best advice I can give this week to fellow shoppers: keep it cas (style-wise and mood-wise) and most importantly of all, remember to keep up your strength. Shopping can be such cardio -- all that necessary pushing + shoving can really work those arm muscles.

Speaking of which, me + my $L are so ready for this week's craziest $50L Fridays ever (45+ designers? Or more? Oh noes! Oh yes!) And I haven't even started on RL holidays yet!
