Little Tsarevna.

This month's new installment of Shiny Shabby just opened and this round's theme is a love letter to (some of the organizers' cultural homeland of) Mother Russia. It's a whimsical mix of traditional decor items, ornate woodwork and all kinds of floral prints; I couldn't resist this rosy bloom of a dress (pink & red? yes please!); some oversized lapis-dyed pearls; and a cheery orange & teal, gold-chained purse (complete with dangling tassel!) to help welcome Springtime as a proper Tsarevna would. -- Btw this new sweeping, bangless "Octavia" hair by Truth is fitting for anyone of a more regal style persuasion: discreetly tucked into the top area of the crown you'll find 2 teeny tiny bobbypins, criss-crossed in the most current yet elegant way. -- Fashionista check: yep, still pretty much living for the stylistic details.

Arcade Love.

It's no secret that SL has become inundated with events, which is why I was especially honored to blog The Arcade, the exceptional quarterly gatcha mania event that's very similar in "feel" to Collabor88 in that the participating creators vigorously flex their creative muscles for each unmistakeably innovative installment (vs recycling pre-existing creations for sale). The result is strikingly innovative, gotta-have-it items that means bye bye $L for us shopoholics. -- Since I was all busy getting the furball when The Arcade first debuted, I was suuuper excited to show you some of my faves from this 2nd round, together with the brand-new, beautifully glowy "Amberly" skin by Glam Affair (wet, berry-stained lips? Yes please!)
Deep meditations are such a calming way to start the day.
And in home furnishings news, this marvelously detailed nail polish stand (check out the 3 cotton ball holders on top!) by uber-innovative home design creator Kaz Nayar for Pilot could be the best use of 1 (!) prim count (and $10L) ever. Luhs!
I was so impressed with this meticulously built nail rack (for a hunt gift, no less!) that I also had to also show you Kaz's offering for The Arcade, which is this utterly enchanting, miniaturized model "winter town," complete with tiny frozen lake and bridge. -- Now this is the kind of thing that's just 100% pure creator love (I personally adore things like this with zero practical purpose, in any life). You gotta have respect for anyone who invests so much care into purely creative yummy stuff; check out the little snowdrifts on the trees, and teensy holiday lights, and you'll get a sense of the loving detail put into this whimsical item. -- Special *mwuahs* to Vixie Rayna for telling me that her RL family sets out something like this every year, hehe.
If you do manage to get into The Arcade amidst the opening crush this week, be sure to check out the wowsome build itself, with some impressive new props on display this time around (including a beautiful old-fashioned carousel, parked right in front).

Femme Punk.

I have a friend in RL who is the most gorges girl you've ever seen -- as in, she could be plucked from a freaking Caravaggio or something -- but she's completely tatted out, as in, ink absolutely everywhere. She's constantly saying that she has to keep her style "femme" in order to offset her tats; this same "balancing" aesthetic between femme + punk is at play today in these 2 styles from Hair Fair 2012 shown here. Check out this edgy "Going Steady" style by Clawtooth (the shaggy chin-length front section hides a secret, skinny twisted knot piece trailing loosely down the back) + this edgy "shaved" side of the head "Aida" style by Wasabi Pills (the buzzed scalp offers such a striking contrast to the tres girlie braid falling down the side).

It's hard to believe that it's been a year since my very 1st blog post. A huge *mwuahs* to all of the SLexy friends who have inspired this blog + shared a laff with us along the way.
My look today was inspired by these brand-new droolworthy lace-up platform booties that my girl Indyra Seigo dropped on me. This luscious cherry color is the yumz. *mwuahs Indyra Seigo*

I was in a girlie braids kinda mood, so I slipped into this free poofy pigtails hair by Heart Softens. A free bohemian babydoll top by C'est La Vie, some free ripped denim by M*Motion + free striped sox by Sey finished this non-matchy matchy, technicolor look.
