Summer Flutter

Check out this soon-to-be-released "Flutter" face that Lelutka creator Minnu Palen is debuting later this week, which I thought was a 'natch with this week's new wavy "Claudia" hair by Truth (yay for unkempt tresses).
This is a more "mature" face than I typically wear, but I'm rather enjoying this aquiline nose + smaller mouth -- a sophisticated combo that conveys a certain quiet aloofness, i.e., perfect for haute-ing up those Yes Me, I'm Fashionista moods.
I'm also showing Maitreya creator Onyx LeShelle's latest "YaXkin" sandals that have been plowing the feeds (much more Maitreya newness to come in upcoming posts). -- Doesn't this flat strappy style practically scream for a long skirt? I noticed this one by u.f.o. for its distinctive print on somebody's Flickr; it's super fluttery + I like the teeny tiny pleats too.
Time to nurse my poor sick laptop today + I'm off for some much-needed cocktails with friends. Summer daze love + fashionista kisses to all!

Three Cheers for Sad Bear

I met a free sad bear today while wandering the grid. He was lonely, so I took him to the local cafe to cheer him up.
Turns out that Sad Bear had quite the ninja mindset for free gifties. He reminded me to grab this free heart-strewn, color-streaked Exile hair (still available via subscribo), the new free baby doll dress by Slow Kitchen + this smokey eye free Cupcakes skin.

Sad Bear was also tres considerate; I had forgotten my purse, so Sad Bear thoughtfully distracted the cafe owner with his pretty sparkly stars, allowing me to help myself to some free skim lattes.

My Milkshake Brings All The Boys To The Yard

I couldn't help but think of Kelis' catchy tune (maybe 'cuz she's worn my jewelry in RL, hehe) when I remembered my fave strawberry milkshake treat by Love Soul, to which I couldn't resist adding the matching mini-milkshake earrings. *slurps my milkshake loudly*
I'm diggin' the 2-tone hairs new by Truth this week. This new "Jackie" style comes with the usual color-change streaks + bow options; I personally really like the half-up styles for an everyday look. So handy for when you wanna show off your earrings + such. *mwuahs Truth Hawks*

Year of the Tiger

The year of the tiger has a very special meaning for me culturally + many designers have such grrreat gifties out right now. I couldn't resist showing you at least a few.
I was tres excited to wear such badass tiger stripes + these free poses from the "Ruthless Tiger" martial arts fatpack at Niqotine totally got me in the mood. So way impressed with the top-notch quality of these sick martial arts poses.
Cower before the almighty tiger, you dog.
I'm so totally embracing my inner Jen here (a la Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, one of my absolute to-die favie movies of all time. -- Don't even tell me you haven't seen it, ZOMG).
These free tiger-striped gloves + leather black-striped leggings are from the lucky boards at Pop Feel. The subtle sheen on these leather leggings is the. smex.
Here, kitty kitty.
A few fashion extras made this look complete, like the Dark Mouse belly chain + these thin golden bracelets by Glow Studio. I thought this feathery "Sarana" hair from Truth + glowy skin from Laq were somehow fitting with this rawr look.

These free tiger-striped booties (complete with double gold buckles!) by GField are part of a very cool "herb hunt" that kicks off today. You are hunting for different varieties of green herbs; click on the sign here at the starting point at the Roman SIM to get a notecard giving hints for where each herb likes to "grow" (so cute!), which actually gives you great starting points. These GField booties are the "turnip" herb gift (hint: look just outside the SIM's church; hopefully the sLURL in the Styling Credits below will give you a red beacon).
*NOTE: this Haru no Nanakusa Hunt is only happening until 1/10 (Japan time) so if you like these booties, I would advise hunting for them as soon as you can.

Btw if you head to Pop Feel for the free tiger-striped gloves + leather leggings, make sure to scoop the oodles of other gifties on the freebies shelf inside the store, including a pretty strawberry plant + also the reason why I luhs this store forevs -- a free Oreo cookie pose stand which I thought they had retired but you can still grab here for free. It is the. absolute. cutest. pose stand I've ever seen. (We have two in our home).

Freckle Face

A certain someone I know kinda has a thing for freckles, and this lovely free freckles skin gift by Bubble is so pretty that I just had to show it you.
Check out the adorable face on this free skin. It's tres innocent + girlish, and the lavendar lip is both unusual + kewl. (I have frex in RL, so I deeply appreciate seeing a heavier freckles effect). I thought this gamine look went so well with the free profile picks gift dress by Designing Nicky Ree -- shimmery, drapey layers of gossamer pink, plus the floral 1-shoulder detail is so lovely (many thanks to my friend Margaux DuFaux for telling about this amazing store long ago!) I have a feeling that this diaphanous number is already gonna make my top 10 for this year.
I luhs the way these flowers curl over the shoulder. The single drape flowing down the back of this dress is so goddess-like too.
These 2-tone pink heels by R2 seemed a 'natch with this outfit.
This free Ohmai bodysuit has already made the freebie blog rounds, but the high-buttie cut was so super smex that I just had to model it here. Like the dress above, this is another 1-shoulder look (also with floral detail) that is both elegant + sexy.
This buttie-friendly bodysuit seemed the perfect vehicle to show you another recent skin fave of mine by Fhang Candy. This store is typically overlooked (admittedly, by myself as well) but I have to say that I'm tres impressed with the "glowy," dewy sheen of this skin. This was one of 2 recent Christmas skin gifts set out in-store (one was $5L and the other $10L; not sure which one this was) but there's a MM board here with a skin similar to this one, plus I believe the store is currently having a massive sale. Isn't it a beauty?

Normally I'm not really a short hair kinda gal, but this free "Jess" style from Truth is a happy exception. The crown height to this asymmetric, modern bob makes all the difference re: the smex factor. Plus the little bobbypins on the side are just the cutest.
Just to show how versatile this awes bodysuit is, I slipped on a black feather miniskirt (a previous gift from Malt)+ a lace-up ties pants layer from 1 of my go-tos for when I just need a black mini, the PixelDolls "Everything" black skirt (this is/was such a steal at the store's ongoing $10L retirement sale).

Btw if you like the first frex skin above, the Bubble store has several other superfun free group gifts, including a pretty hummingbird/daisy chest tattoo + some yummeh "swirl" lollipops (with both hand + mouth attachments) in a color fatpack. (I believe their other location has a trailing above-the-buttie free daisy tattoo as well, which I'll try to find the sLURL for).
