Hair Fair 2014: Tossed & Rumpled.

One of my favorite charity shopping events of the year, Hair Fair 2014, kicks off today with oodles of shiny new things for your avi's tresses. Proceeds from every single sale at this worthy event will benefit Wigs For Kids, so it's a truly rewarding way to spend your hard-earned $L.

I am showing a glorious riot o' curls new by Milana for this special event: this rumpled jumble of fat, tumbling locks, tossed so artfully atop the head, struck me as such a sophisticated, smex-kitten alternative to updos (or for any other time you wish to freely display your avi's shoulders & bustline). The fully flopped-over section covering 1 of the eyes lends a dramatic peek-a-boo look; and as always, the Milana colors are notably rich + saturated (in particular, I always find creator Asuka Martin's browns to be some of the nicest anywhere, with lusciously-done highlights + lowlights). -- This tawny color palette was also simply perf to show you more of the safari-friendly styles at this month's Collabor88: these bold, sculpturesque tiger & elephant head cuffs by Yummy worked so well with this simple bowtied romper, and these utterly delish Peter-Pan collar (!) & buckle sandals have the added benefit of masking any color tinting seams on the SLink ankle area (particularly good for those of us who always forget to add the color blending layers, hehe).

Silver Linings.

You can never have enough heels, especially the razor-thin stilettos kind.
Baiastice creator Sissy Pessoa's newest snakeskin stilettos come with oodles of texture-change sock options. Usually one for punched-up color, I was immediately drawn to this muted, soft silvery tone (which I found tres elegant with these teensy black polka-dotted socks).
All this silver landed me squarely in a retro Hollywood glam mood, so I dressed it up with some trailing diamond jewels, the latest sideswept "Caprice" updo by Truth that I've been obsessed with for weeks + the sparkly, silvery gray "Platinum" shade of Ikon's latest Ardent eyes. My go-to 1-shoulder "Dakota" dress by Maitreya finished this no-fuss silvery look.
And since I've still been obsessing over new home decor stuffs, here are some free pretties for those with a green thumb: this free gardening desk (complete with clay flowerpots, seed packets, "Biologica" dirt sack + some wooden tray things), which I combined with these gorges single plants in gardening soil sacks (you get 3 different mesh ones for free by El Patio Inc.).
Speaking of El Patio Inc., I'm so glad that creator Denise Rowlands graciously invited me to check out her striking Crash Boat SIM, since this place is simply crammed with ready-made ops for photogs. Be sure to wander past the stores plaza to check out the abandoned railway cars, rustic  wooden bridge, rainy mountaintop scene (complete with tucked-away cozy shack!) & even a solitary control tower. My fave was simply taking in the glowing sunset on the boat-strewn beach, which was broken up beautifully by tiny flowing streams + whitewashed logs. This beach actually so reminded me of my fave sandy spots in Hawaii; Denise really got that mix of solitude + artfully-strewn nature just right! Most def on my permanent must-TP list as a serene hideout for some good old-fashioned peace + quiet.

Caramel Culture Shock

Nemesis creator Calypso Clip is debuting several feminine, caramel-toned pieces for the massive upcoming CHIC Management Culture Shock event that I wanted to show you. These separates work so well together as an ensemble; I added nude & black capped heels by SLink, a gorges new apple print shoulder bag by Izumiya + a long new twisted hair by Milana to complete this fawn-colored look.
I realize that my free green bear didn't exactly "go" with this look, but his rainbow-printed tummie was too cute to resist. Plus his little friends kept peeking in on the photo shoot. Hehe.

Dark Dollface

Esuga creator Eilfie Sugarplum passed me these wicked silvery "Vampiress" eyes awhile ago (they're silver, with a thin red detail surrounding the iris) + I always meant to blog 'em. Here's a dark dollface look inspired by Eilfie's ghostly peepers, which pairs a glowy skin by The Plastik (do not miss Aikea's current free frex skin gift in-store for the '50s Hunt), a deep wine lip stain by La Malvada Mujer + some lashes by yours truly (just messin' around in Photoshop). -- This is likely moi expressing my angst that I haven't been able to visit Fantasy Faire yet, grrrr.

A close-up of this girlie Pink Fuel skin for the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser that I just can't seem to take off. The face is tres innocent + these candy-pink lips are oh so purdy.
I was in the mood for more color play, so I threw together this blueberry-ish look featuring the free Pr!tty dress with this geometric "wave" print that's been all over the feeds, together with some free blue leafy appendages by BP + a free fresh-faced skin by JeSyLiLO.

Happy Hairs, Happy Heads

So the big hair news is that creator Asuka Martin of Dernier Cri has opened a new hair store with creator Sharifa Morenz. I've always loved Asuka's fresh, youthful styles; this lovely "Lena" side pony is 1 of my new faves. *mwuahs Asuka Martin*Asuka's big, bouncy curls -- kinda her trademark -- are simply the. smex.
Btw these dresses I'm wearing are creator Chrystina Noel's special items for Fashion For Life; I really like casual dresses, and Chrystina's Riddle brand has some of the prettiest prints I've seen. *mwuahs Chrystina Noel*
My thing for barrette hairs caused this tousled "Milliseth" style to catch my eye immediately; the strands of hair just barely falling onto the face is tres feminine + coy.
This Snow White print dress is free via the current hunt at Euphoria (fair warning: I saw a visible gap between the top + the skirt, but this could've been just on my shape). Luckily, these cheerful froggies didn't seem to mind.
Personally I think these hairs are some of the nicest blacks + browns on the grid (as you can see, I couldn't bring myself to take 'em off). -- This rawrrry pink top + adorable A-line skirt by Emery are a steal at $70L for the whole ensemble. The free woven ankle boots by Magnifico + free woven double cuffs by Sigma come courtesy of the same Euphoria hunt.
