A Nip In the Air.

I find it interesting that as SL clothing becomes more "realistic" with mesh, we're encountering more "RL" issues with fit (picking the right "size" + making sure alpha layers wear correctly). Take this new "jumpsuit" dress by Ricielli, for example: loved the dress; hated how the alpha layer erased the tops of my thighs (luckily, it took all of a few seconds to find a House of Fox alpha that worked like a dream). -- I also noticed that a certain mammilla body part was having quite a big day out; a quickie Photoshop fix was in order -- until I realized that no one else should be as surprised as I was about this (rather important) aspect of this otherwise lovely dress. So, I hope you'll forgive a teensy bit o' immodesty today. Heh.
I'm also showing the other new style that debuted by Truth this week, this gorges headband "Helia" shoulder-length 'do, featuring these gently mussed, side parted bangs; I added a fancier cameo headband by Tram for a gold hardware touch, to offset these bright hues. -- Plus aren't these semi-sheer leggings so darling? They're from Le Poppycock + yet another testament of how nobody does vintage floral prints like this brand.

Miss Meshed

So . . . this week's mesh update to Phoenix Viewer was essentially an early Xmas gift for us photogs, since it meant that we got to keep Phoenix's user-friendly interface + view mesh stuff. For moi, this was a reason to show some meshy hair, clothes + shoes that I'd been wanting to style (but was too lazy to brave the annoying viewers for).
Isn't this Gaga-like thick eyeliner fierce? It's 1 of my fave new finds at the upcoming Four Corners event (stay tuned for more blog coverage of this event to follow later). I also thought this poufy, mussed, shortie hair that's new by Wasabi Pills was 'specially cute.
Like many other people, I did observe that while I luhs the way the mesh stuff moves with my AO, because my avi is so curvy, I still glimpsed "breaks" in the clothing (this will undoubtedly become less of an issue as mesh becomes more customized). -- I'm also not loving that to many folks still using (non-mesh) viewers, I basically look semi-nakey with a giant donut floating around my middle. -- Ah well, such is the price of technology.
In other photog news, hopefully y'all have been heading to Adorkable to their free 1 pose a day before Xmas. These are all sweet, soft poses + great for showing off clothes since it's nothing too angly/funky. Caramel Culture Shock

Nemesis creator Calypso Clip is debuting several feminine, caramel-toned pieces for the massive upcoming CHIC Management Culture Shock event that I wanted to show you. These separates work so well together as an ensemble; I added nude & black capped heels by SLink, a gorges new apple print shoulder bag by Izumiya + a long new twisted hair by Milana to complete this fawn-colored look.
I realize that my free green bear didn't exactly "go" with this look, but his rainbow-printed tummie was too cute to resist. Plus his little friends kept peeking in on the photo shoot. Hehe.

Ichigo, Ichiban!

Amidst the oodles of ongoing hunts, I wanted to mention a smaller one called the Strawberry (ichigo) Hunt, featuring about 20 Asian stores on the J Island SIM. I'm wearing the Mr. Poet prize here, this how in tarnation is only $1L? dusty rose oxford + neck scarf, which I paired with the new "Kaelyn" hair by Truth that I just can't seem to take off. *mwuahs Truth Hawks*
Btw this $1L book tucked under my arm (+ the toppling ice cream cone in the shot below) both hail from the ongoing rebuild of the Drowsy SIM (you can't tell from this pic, but the girl actually "moves" continuously across the page). This freakin' fantastico Bambi fur purse was another find at the Drowsy library, and the unique $20L antlers mirror was a cheapie find on Marketplace (the shadows are by me, lol).
Some participating hunt stores are also offering some spectacular non-hunt gifts just sitting in-store, like this free fuscia brocade jacket also by Mr. Poet (you can find it on a lonely rack by the door). This double strawberry charm necklace is another hunt prize, featuring a pretty blossom charm; such a great find for $1L.

For The Paws

There's been so many shopping events that it's hard to pick just one; I wanted to mention Project FUR Japan as a big one for animal lovers. 100% of the proceeds go to efforts aiding the helpless pets who were displaced and lost after the tragic events in Japan; the official website mentions this video here, showing a lost dog refusing to leave his fellow furry friend, which helped inspire this event.
Appropriately, some of the cutest items at this shopping event are animal-themed, like these adorable baby pets (I scooped the baby panda + the baby monkey, who even has a banana milk bottle, awwws!), which I thought were a steal for $60L. I'm also showing this week's fabby new windswept "Kaelyn" hair by Truth (who's also offering a supercute headband hair called "Baby Doll" at Project FUR Japan, that you can fatpack for $350L).
These bunneh socks were just too cute. They even have li'l fluffie white "tails" in the back ankle parts. Double awwws!

Creator Squinternet Larnia is debuting some new pieces for her Donna Flora line at this year's Jewelry Fair 2010 (that kicks off tomorrow on October 8th) + I wanted to show you her fantastic new "Dreamer" choker, featuring a cameo pendant that actually *blinks* (!) See the girl inside the cameo getting all coy below.
