Now that it's blistering hot, it's only 'natch to think wistfully of cooler climes. Here's me channeling that back-to-school vibe, a la any of those prep Gossip Girl biatches -- maybe with a touch o' downtown cool. O Blair, /me hearts you + your headband mafia 4evs.
I'm wearing a pair of free blinged out jeans by Ganked (OK, so maybe Blair wouldn't exactly do the whole rhinestones thing; Jenny perhaps?) + a girlishly sweet, cap-sleeved top for $1L at Willow.
This casual vintage styling is all about the accessories: a mini-fedora hat hair on sale for $50L by Kookie at The Dressing Room + a tres stunning triple-ropes pearl necklace + other chunky jewelry helped finish this look.
I had to show ya a close-up beauty shot of this utterly fabby oversized "Golden Wings" ring by Paper Couture, which my uber-stylish gf Dorothy Button was rockin' the other nite. As you can see, this oversized piece o' finger yumminess is To. Die. (You can also see why I had no choice but to pick up these ridic good snakeskin bangles at Atelier AM too).

Earlier this week, rbcg creator Kyrsten Jigsaw sent out a notice that she was suddenly closing her store. Oh, Sugar

Sugarcube creator Sayuri Cremorne disappeared briefly last year, right after announcing her then-new Sugar (more casual) brand. I haven't paid these stores a visit in awhile, so imagine my delight when I found these free goodies hanging around quietly, just waiting to be scooped.
This gorges sugarplum-colored, gold-stenciled free tank top was tres perfect with this molten gold, flouncy knee-length skirt. Ahhh casual summer style.
This pretty blue smock top I'm wearing is also free (check the 2nd floor). This was so great for my beachside stroll.
I found this lovely free "Chimney" dress hidden in the store too. Just touch the guestbook on the table in the middle of the store + it's yours, gratis.

And now to show you 1 of my fave dresses ever in my inventory, which Sayuri debuted last year: the "Goldfish" dress by Sugarcube. Taking Over the World. . .1 Donut at a Time (My First Post!)

Hi, Gavin here. Those of you who might've seen my name before might know me as one of the manshionistas of SLexy (or at least that's what Tesh likes to call us male models) but now I'm going to open my mouth and prove I'm more than just a pretty face.

Exploring the many SIMs in SL I ran across this awesome donut cannon. Yes I said Donut. Cannon.Strapping on this monster started giving me visions of taking over the world. As in, blasting anyone who got in my way. With donuts.

Loaded up with everything from powdered donuts to my favorite (the almighty glazed donut) I was successfully TP'ing from SIM to SIM, donut conquering everywhere I went. All was going to plan until I ran into my favorite fashionista and blogger extraordinaire, Tesh.
She was armed with the only known defense, a can of Flattery Salmon. This can of flattery salmon is very powerful. It distracts an unsuspecting victim with flattering pick-up lines to move in and disable them.
As Tesh approached me I heard stuff like this:

"For a moment I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Now I see that I am very much alive and heaven has been brought to me."

Then another one:
"If I received a nickel for every time I saw someone as stunning as you, I'd have five cents."

And this:
"Excuse me, I'd like to have kids someday, and I wanted to know how your parents created such a beautiful creature."

I became so distracted by all the flattery that before I knew what happened, Tesh had pinned me on the ground and knocked the donut cannon out of my hands. Thanks to a fashionista, the SL world was safe again to travel.

I would like to thank Tesh for being so supportive and helping me with my very first blog. Without her this post would not have been possible. Thank You

It's Chic to be Geek

I once had a tres snobby art director tell me that "SL is sooo geeky." Well you know what? This dude was what my friend Rene would call a "tosser," since a) he never ever played SL (!) + b) if being geeky is wrong, I kinda don't wanna be right. Heh.
Speaking of geeks, there's all kinds of nerdy goodies in the Geekgasm Hunt that kicked off today -- all free. Here's a few things that I managed to snag today (all by myself -- take that Huntmaster G!) See Styling Credits below for the 411 on these looks.
One of the funnest things in this hunt is this "beer bottles" bike from Harry's Houses which is the funz to scoot around in (there's also a guys' version included). *Mwuahs* to my good friend Karina Larkham for helping me find this sneaky li'l bugger! What's happenin' Daddy-Os. Acid & Mala has an adorable polka-dot minidress on sale this weekend (each color is $100L each) that channels some serious '50s retro cool.
I added the free ruffle skirt group gift for some extra '50s hep style. -- Now, normally for proper '50s style, I'd do the whole schoolteacher glasses, cardigan poodle sweater thing, etc. but I preferred to pare down this look to be modern hawt. Some tiny pearl wristlets + a mini-choker were what I went with instead.
The new Lamb "Sleepyhead" tousled pixie hair that I can't seem to take off + that same Tres Blah skin that I'm now officially wearing to death again completed this innocent dollface look. It's what's buzzin', cuzzin'. (<--- taken from this '50s slang website which was hella funz to chortle at)

The Summer Sunrise Festival at Tableau is a must-visit this weekend, with tons of adorables waiting for the scooping. 'Natch when I heard about this thing, I ran straight over to Tres Blah see if another skin was out for the grabbing. No such luck, but this seemed like reason enough to truck out one of my fave skins ever, a former Stumblebum sale item that the lovely Julliette Westerburg was gracious enough to sneak me a copy of even tho' I somehow snoozed it. *mwuahs Julliette Westerburg*
Now: Check. Out. This. Hair. Head over heels lurve this new short pixie style by Lamb, which to me is like, the very definition of gamine. Damn this thing is cute. Where's my friend Dorothy Button when I need her? She would look tres cute sporting this around. I love shopping for my friends. And getting stuff for moi while I'm at it. Heh.

I'm always in awe of the detail of high fashion design.. everywhere you look there is something going on with the above gown. From head to toe there is detail.. is it really such a style desaster ?

Hunts will come + go, but the fashionista in me was so tickled by the name of the newest hunt organized by our friends at LP Design + Garage that I just had to shamelessly crib it for this post title. *double mwuahs Liberty Shinn + Slava Parkin*

The "Fashion Is Love" hunt kicked off yesterday here + there's tons of yummies free for the scooping (check the list of participating stores at the hunt blog site here). -- I was in a mood for neutrals, so I'm showing gifts that offer 2 takes on gray: slate + silver, both inspired by this free gray headband hair that's newly free at the Kik lucky board.
This first slate gray minidress by Sassy Kitty is clean + simple (I've been in a modernist fashion mood lately, so I left off the ripple skirt prim), which is also the perfect canvas to show off this oversized heart pendant by Garage. -- To this RL jewelry designer, this ruby-red gem is rather like collarbone candy. Yums.
This romantic dress by A&A Fashion swings waaay over to the other side of the style spectrum. Teeny tiny beading + a daringly asymmetric, lace-trimmed waist is what makes this daring concoction straddle that smexeh line between lingerie + clothing. I absolutely fiend for pieces that blur this stylistic line; plus the sheer fabric texture + hems trailing into the tummie make it tres couture. And don'tcha just love it when the color of a garment heightens the overall sense of a piece? This wispy, silvery color totally plays up the super-delicate feel of this semi-sheer look. To. Die.

I was also struck by these "Ladybug" pumps, which come courtesy of furniture (!) store MB-CreationZ. Their monthly subscribo gifts are always the cuteness + these pumps really do remind me of the kind of detail this store has become known for in their furniture. I'm diggin' this pretty sage green hue too. Awwws.
