Taking the Plunge.

It seems that some of us are too scared to take the plunge, even in poolside waters.
These latest cap hairs by Truth are perfect for adding a touch o' no-fuss casual summer style (how fitting would these be for summer with some denim cutoffs + your fave tank)? I'm showing the shorter one (which is actually a men's style) above together with a pretty free striped dress by OrsiniRed (yet another talented blogger's inworld imprint) + some other fun freebies that are yours for the taking, courtesy of the ongoing plethora of current hunts.

I also had to show you my newest absolute fave dark eye, this beguiling "Darkstar" shade in Ikon's latest "Ascension" line. -- Mysteriously ombre + rich in color (despite the dark hue; something that's quite rare in dark eyes) with hints of indigo, and full of realistic shine, I loved wearing this eye against a tomato-red lipstick + thick lashes.

SLexy Judgy Wudgy Committee, Session 1: MetaMan.

It's SL men's fashion week, so our SLexy resident man Gavin McGinnis agreed to take on Sileny's blogger challenge (the assignment: to create a "Preppy" look) + be generally objectified by us ladies. We decided to make a go of it by shooting 3 looks + inviting a few of our SLexy fam to freely judge/comment/snark away. Take a look.

Creator Gala Phoenix's new "Sweetheart" skin has arrived 'specially for V-Day, featuring whisper-soft blushes + that innocent-yet-superpouty face that Curio is known for (these might just be my. fave. lips. of. all. time). The Glam-Pire Diaries, Vol. 2: Top Vampire Chef

Tay Wycliffe here, Tesh's vampire cousin. Tesh went on yet another of her shopping sprees *rolls eyes* so she asked me to take over for another post.

Luckily I've just been accepted as a contestant on the vampire world's newest TV sensation, Top Vampire Chef. Basically, a bunch of us ambitious foodie vamps compete each week to prove who's got bloody culinary game.
My main rival is a pesky know-it-all, Gary McGinnis. -- That Gary thinks he's such a much. He makes these avant-garde things like blood mousse and blood sorbet. -- Puh-leeeze! If we vamps wanted that frou-frou nonsense we'd all be drinking dandelion wine instead.

The other contestant is a talented girl who I really like, DreamBloodAngel Larnia (altho' the network, Vampire Television or VTV, tried to make us girls catfight with each other like, all the time. They gave that up after I scary hissed at them).

I should also probably mention that our famous TV show host, Tom Co-Leechy-Yo, is somewhat biased against me ever since I observed that his shiny, dome-like appearance strongly resembles that human hygiene icon, Mr. Clean. Some immortals are so sensitive! Sheesh.

Now to the kitchen, where things are really cookin':

Tom Co-Leechy-Yo: "Listen up contestants. This week, your Quickfire Challenge is to create that trickiest of vampire delicacies: a blood pudding. You have 30 minutes. Go!"
Gary: "I'm doing an avant-garde take on the traditional blood pudding, Tom, which we all know is really just a fried blood clot. Instead I'm making a frothy blood mousse, served in a delicate brain membrane. I'm pretty confident about this Quickfire Challenge, Tom."

Tom walks over to me with a slightly hostile look on this face and snaps, "And you? What are you making?"
"I'm sous-vide-ing some rich, chunky veins for my blood pudding, Tom," I say smugly. "I just know the nice contrasting textures will totally impress the judges."

But what's this? Tom is no longer listening 'cuz he's busy asking DreamBloodAngel out on a date! Heeeey wait a minute, is that even allowed?
The next thing I know, Tom is announcing:

"DreamBloodAngel Larnia -- you are Top Vampire Chef!"

The TV studio erupts into utter chaos! Dream screams with delight. The entire audience is whooping and cheering. Gary looks like he's ready to throw frothy blood mousse at both Dream and Tom. But I can't pay any attention anymore 'cuz I get totally distracted by a juicy noob human who's somehow made his way into the audience. Forget all these cooks in the kitchen -- it's dinnertime!

To Our Friend Kaori, The Sadist.

It's with tremendous sadness that I am sharing with you that my friend creator Kaori Masala will be leaving SL + closing her fabulous dEVOL store on May 31, 2010. -- Kaori calls herself a "sadist" (+ will giggle as she tells you that) since she loves SL + knows she will miss it, but she needs to focus more on her RL. (Boy did I throw a mighty temper tantrum when I learned all of this).

Toy Story

This is the story of a rabbit named Gyaku-Usagi. Let's call him GU for short.
GU was a happy rabbit. Sure, he had a few run-ins with Linden Labs (specifically, they used words like "anti-establishment" and "needs attitude adjustment") but such unpleasantries aside, life was good for this not-so-petite rabbit.

One day, GU was wandering around the grid when he happened to overhear Gavin McGinnis saying loudly (to whoever would listen), "Rabbits? Pfffft. Second Life would be so much better without those overgrown pests wandering around the grid. They're such weaklings too, always looking for carrots + veggies + stuff. Ha!"
GU also noticed Gavin's unfortunate choice of fashion.All of this made GU mad.
GU decided to teach Gavin a lesson. Just when Gavin finished his anti-rabbit lecture, GU decided the moment had come to show Gavin who's boss. "Weak? Who's the weakling now?" demanded GU.
GU dragged off Gavin to his favorite grassy area. He made sure to go over all the big rocks and tree stumps.
GU stuck Gavin in a cage to make him think about the unkind things he'd said. This was a wake-up call for Gavin, since Gavin hadn't had a time-out since he was like, 5 years old.
Gavin tried to chill out GU by showing him his favorite rabbit mouth toy.
But this only made GU madder. "Dressing up one of my fellow rabbits? And then wearing him . . . on your mouth?" Wow was GU P.O.'ed.

GU thought the cage would hold Gavin, but when GU wasn't looking, Gavin quickly jammed the door open + grabbed GU.
GU countered by giving Gavin a forced bunneh hug. This really freaked Gavin out.
GU finally let Gavin go. Gavin ran away. Far, far away. To this day, Gavin is still a trash-talker, but he can't hear the word "rabbit" without suppressing a shudder. Long tall bunneh ears frighten him too.

A Rainy Day

It had been so long since they had seen each other and she was nervous. Would he remember her? Or would he feel like a stranger? The rain provided cover. It surrounded her, cold and uncertain.
As she approached, he merely drew her in under his umbrella. The rain fell quietly around them. The pitter-patter sound was oddly comforting.
He held her so she wouldn't get wet. Her fabulous pink suede boots took a drenching, but she somehow didn't care.
Without a word, he pulled her close. She shivered, feeling his body shield his. The rain suddenly felt warm.
The railway tracks were wet, but they didn't mind at all. She inched closer to him. She was home.

Springtime at the Albero Art Fair

The Art Fair kicked off today at the adorable Albero SIM, which always seems to be hosting whatever current celebration of Le Kyoot is happening on the grid. This Art Fair is so great for taking a lazy weekend stroll, and springtime is everywhere here -- from the knee-high lawns of green grass to pretty daffodils + wooden art easels strewn everywhere you look.
I'm wearing a smexeh 1-shoulder creation by Eboni Khan for Hucci with my fave ripped Fishy Strawberry fishnets. The vibrant buttercup yellow color of this dress just felt too perfect with all the blooming daffodils here.
This Grecian flowy shoulder attachment that trails down the back is just like the Hucci aesthetic: feminine but still modern and clean, with not too many frills + a whole lotta smex. *mwuahs Eboni*
I've been a fan of the 2Real sneaker line ever since creator 2Real Okelli debuted his "Pro_Spec" line some months back. His new "Pure" shoe is, if possible, even better: check out the meticulous leather + suede texturing on various parts of this shoe.
These sneaks come with a very precise HUD where you can color customize every conceivable part of this shoe (including the sole, laces, tongue underneath the laces, toe pad, + even the teeny tiny ribbing running around the top). *mwuahs 2Real Okelli*

ZOMG does all this high culture gimme a headache. Do you see how this here froggie is totally snubbing me? Sheesh.
Giant squashy paint tubes make squirty messes here too. Luckily, nobody seems to mind in the slightest.
As I was shooting this post, the new Tuli group gift came in + I just had to show y'all. It's a "Gem" exclusive makeup for her "Eva" line (the same line I am wearing here) that's not available for purchase in-store. You get 7 skin tones in this gift (from pale to dark); this frosted seaweed green eye makeup + pink-nude lip is the same makeup in each tone.
