Bonne Anniversaire A Chic!

SL years can be like dog years in that for no reason whatsoever, something simple often requires a hellluva lot o' effort to actually pull off. -- Mah girl Keira Seerose & co. have been organizing their CHIC Management events for over a year now, no small fait accompli in SL; not only for the amount of effort behind the yummy fashion always so reliably delivered, but as a working testament to how designers + bloggers work even better together. *mwuahs Keira, Pru, Kristy, Cat + all of the CHIC Management team*
A gangload of designers have set out special designs to celebrate CHIC's 1st year. I'm sure you'll see more of these goodies thruout the week, but I was inspired today to do a casual rock vibe via the fabby gold guitar (!) by Di's Opera. This pretty tan skin is new by Mynerva + I must note that these white-rimmed "Daisy" eyes are soooo striking, 'specially against tan skin tones.
This white angel back tat + my zebra heels are free; everything else (including this lace-up back corset top by Khush) you can scoopie at the CH1C birthday shopping event.

What up mah SLexy lovelies. I am now on a souped-up laptop *kicks poor old useless computer to tha curb* so to make up for my week-long living in absentia, here's a scoop on a brand-new spanking giftie that all you flirtatiously inclined readers really must grab while you can.
My friend Saya Littlething has set out this supergirlie black lace-tinged, double pink, lace ruffled ballerina minidress for $1L in her Schoen mainstore, as a gorges gift to commemorate her little sister's new baby. Congrats on little Kaisei (which means "big star" in Japanese) + many thanks for letting us share in your oh-so-cute family occasion! *mwuahs Saya Littlething*
Back to the dress: there are 2 ways to wear this thing -- naughty or nice. Guess which one I picked first.The flouncy lace mini-ballet skirt that floats just above the buttie gives you some skin action for all you tres saucy ladies. Maybe this is the stay-at-home version. Heh.

Here's the babydoll version, along with my shiny pink "Morganite" eyes I just scooped from my go-to eye store, Negaposi. Such a girlie look practically screamed for some rough tattoo action; luckily, my friend Kaori Masala of dEVOL had a particularly wicked one on hand. *mwuahs Kaori Masala*
These poses are also new by Schoen + will run you a very reasonable $20L each.

Now just to cute up the mix (and also 'cuz these reminded me of something you might see in a baby's room): check out these free droopy "Peeps"-like pillows that are newish in the Kue lucky board. They come in 3 colors (I managed to win the brown + the white ones shown here) + the "?" was activated when I was there yesterday. These saggy monsters clock in at a mere 1 prim each. Cuties!

Toy Story

This is the story of a rabbit named Gyaku-Usagi. Let's call him GU for short.
GU was a happy rabbit. Sure, he had a few run-ins with Linden Labs (specifically, they used words like "anti-establishment" and "needs attitude adjustment") but such unpleasantries aside, life was good for this not-so-petite rabbit.

One day, GU was wandering around the grid when he happened to overhear Gavin McGinnis saying loudly (to whoever would listen), "Rabbits? Pfffft. Second Life would be so much better without those overgrown pests wandering around the grid. They're such weaklings too, always looking for carrots + veggies + stuff. Ha!"
GU also noticed Gavin's unfortunate choice of fashion.All of this made GU mad.
GU decided to teach Gavin a lesson. Just when Gavin finished his anti-rabbit lecture, GU decided the moment had come to show Gavin who's boss. "Weak? Who's the weakling now?" demanded GU.
GU dragged off Gavin to his favorite grassy area. He made sure to go over all the big rocks and tree stumps.
GU stuck Gavin in a cage to make him think about the unkind things he'd said. This was a wake-up call for Gavin, since Gavin hadn't had a time-out since he was like, 5 years old.
Gavin tried to chill out GU by showing him his favorite rabbit mouth toy.
But this only made GU madder. "Dressing up one of my fellow rabbits? And then wearing him . . . on your mouth?" Wow was GU P.O.'ed.

GU thought the cage would hold Gavin, but when GU wasn't looking, Gavin quickly jammed the door open + grabbed GU.
GU countered by giving Gavin a forced bunneh hug. This really freaked Gavin out.
GU finally let Gavin go. Gavin ran away. Far, far away. To this day, Gavin is still a trash-talker, but he can't hear the word "rabbit" without suppressing a shudder. Long tall bunneh ears frighten him too.

Schoolgirl Lost En Route To Disneyland

Once upon a time, this naughty li'l schoolgirl (moi) decided to ditch school and head to Disneyland for a day of fun. What could possibly happen?
Strange, I always thought my school was in a better neighborhood. These grafitti walls are sure purdy tho.
Well I might be lost, but at least my pants are fabby. Aren't these "slashes" of asymmetrical red plaid (on the inside of the leg) totally brill? I'm so living for these black leather half-gloves. Plus my red bow Minnie ears are way cute. -- Lemme tellya when you're sad, lost and alone, it's such a comfort to rely upon your own steely-strong fashion sense. I was totally congratulating myself on my stylistic clear-headedness when I bumped into Weird Guy.
"Hey there Disney girl. You lost? You want some candy?"
Um, no thanks Weird Guy. Interesting hat hair situation you got goin' on tho.

"Well can I film you for a minute then?"
"How's about a game of Twister?"
At this point, an unfriendly Rottweiler suddenly appeared + started attacking Weird Guy. (Seriously. They appear outta nowhere in the Silent Hill SIM + start biting you). Miraculously at the same exact moment, a busload of senior citizens en route to Disneyland stopped + cheerfully offered me a lift. Here I am running for their bus (carefully, 'cuz my superhigh stilettos wouldn't let me run too fast).
I was glad to be rid of Weird Guy. I mean he was super friendly + all, but his fashion choices so did not go with my outfit.

Finally, Disney! I was way excited for the teacups ride.
Dumbo is one of my favorite characters. Who can resist an elephant in a neck ruffle? When I spotted him I just had to rock a li'l pose. And since it was getting cold, I slipped on my matching cropped black jacket. Aren't these puffy half-sleeves + high collar too good?
School has been a real snoozefest lately, so tomorrow I think I'll head to Sea World. Lesson of the day: arrange mode of transportation beforehand.

Good (Girlie Girl) Sale Grabs: Shoen + Cupcakes

Why was I humming that song ""I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story today? Oh, because I scooped these 2 pretty dresses at the ongoing sale at Schoen @ Vinyl Cafe, of course. Don't mind the crying -- it's only 'cuz these dresses were that good. Tears of joy, see.
What do you do when you can't decide which color? Why, get both of course.
I've been wearing these free U&R Dogs "Invention" bangles everywhere. The piano keyboard cuff is simply adorable, and the tiny gold notes + tiny pearls dangly chain are just precious. These round-toe stilettos by Indyra's aren't new or free, but they are such a classic buy. The stiletto heel is just-right-thick + tapers to a perfect arse-kicking point. And the stockings? One of my fave freebies finds ever: the garters-free fishnets from SHi. Such detailed quality + the scalloped lacey edges are just yum.
Every fashionista in SL was stalking the Cupcakes earlier this week for their crazy gift bags, which contained both skin packs + cute clothes together (the lucky cupcake was giving away great skins too). I'm wearing 2 of these gift skins here but actually wanted to show you these non-free dresses labeled "Halloween outfits" (but really just lovely mini-dresses in super rich pink and red hues -- there's nothing seasonal about them).
Check out the tiny rosettes + smexeh front lace-up detail on the pink one. So glad I worked out my abs today.
If you missed the free Cupcakes lucky chair/cupcake skins, don't despair: there's still a gorges free skin in a gift bag (up front near the the "Halloween" outfits) and the permanent sale section upstairs (which now has some new items). Here's one of the $25L yellow dresses with the free "fairy" skin (see how it's totally wearable all year round?) Love the dramatic under-eyeliner too.
The (not really) "fairy" skin theme inspired me to pair this outfit with my absolute favie thing this week (also not-really-fairy): this "Magic Candy Stash" sweets halo from Evie's Closet (a previously free apple bob gift; now bundled with 3 other outfits for $100L). Flying lollipops + cupcakes zooming above my head? I'm so down.
These eyes are another lovely group join gift from Ryker Beck (is there anything this woman can't do?) Her newly-minted VIP group for Exodi is still free to join; the $250L joining fee is temporarily waived for now + these shiny eyes are in the Notices (different colors worn thruout here -- I prefer the (V) series best 'cuz they're the shiniest). Here's me in the "Teal" shiny eyes, chillin' with my penguin friends outside the Cupcakes store. They are so cool -- didn't even try to mooch my candy (unlike a certain Gavin someone). I totally hearted them.
