Bite The Hand That Feeds You.

And since I'm always wondering what my pup thinks of me (as a silly, useless human), I thought I would put together some of this month's Arcade items to postulate precisely that. Hehe.



Actually all of these goodies came to me via an extremely useful new SL discovery for all us gatcha fanatics: The Arcade - Gatcha Events group. This is actually the official event group; you just IM Marianne McCann for chat rights (to IM in the group cat) and start firing away what you want. --  I actually found reading the group rules extremely helpful beforehand (especially the "buyer beware"-type warnings re: exchanging trade items -- which listed a few pitfalls that definitely would not have occurred to me on my own) and this amazing sleeping puppy bed rare came my way, within hours of being in the group! So, if you ever find yourself caught up in the oh-so-fun evilness of gatcha (sob), and need to unload some stuff, try this group before you swear off gatcha forevs (note that this group is for trades only, not sales -- but I did notice that you'll sometimes find folks willing to just give items away if they have no use for them). So there ya go -- my SL tip of the day!

The latest round at Collabor88 has just kicked off with the fun theme of "Back to Business," and I luhs how the C88 designers have interpreted this to mean the new office casual: I chose a primary colors set that I'd totes wear to the office (I mean, how can bright cherry reds, rich yellows + deep indigo blues help but break up the office doldrums)? -- Plus everyone appreciates a li'l girlie girl headband action (you boys in engineering -- I'm talkin' to you), 'specially at all those hopelessly dull office meetings. This newest smexeh kitteneh "Lolita" headband style by Truth (another delish Collabor88 find) did the job nicely.

Hollywould Dreams.

Ahhh Hollywood. Isn't it dreamy? Sometimes when I'm doing a li'l housework, I like to practice that seemingly lost art of not-really-shocked-yet-earnestly-modest acceptance speeches. Only I never get nervous, 'cuz its only my teeny tiny kittycat + wooden toy dog who hears them. -- Those guys are always such a great audience. Hehe.
You can scoopie all these cute housewares -- and this hi-wattage glamorous "Aria" skin by Glam Affair (try to score the handy pre-set makeup combos! I luhs this one with the deep pink eyeshadow, tres Hollywood) at the newest round of The Arcade, which I paired with this week's new "Lovers" headband hair by Truth (pink & orange is so New Hollywood, don'tcha think)? -- Now this is a very girlie girl thing to observe, but I must also add that the most flattering part about this 'do is the gently-swept puffy bangs + puffy high crown area, which offer precisely just the right amount of "poof" (the headband is optional on/off too). -- Now if only this perfect "poof" was as easy to achieve in RL (le sigh).

Don't you find that fast food has a certain... transporting quality? 'Specially fries. Mmmm fries.
As we've come to expect by now, The Arcade has become 1 of the grid's most reliable spots to grab the tastiest new SL foodie noms, like this scrumptious strawberry cake & whipped cream slice, piping hot tea + even some notably detailed flowers (the camera was 'cuz I couldn't resist a li'l selfie whilst munching). Plus everybody knows that breakfast in bed is tres Hollywood.

Lunar Landing.

The beloved readers of this blog already know that I rarely do white hair, but hey, you gotta figure all that zero-gravity stuff is simply murder on one's natural organic hair color treatments. Hehe.
My lunar landing today was inspired by this month's "Supernova" theme at Collabor88: and what an intergalatic ensemble it is, from naughty space-age dresses (like this plastic-strapped one by Faenzo that I'm wearing here) to oversized gems + industrial metal tones in accessories. -- Plus again with the hair, this new "Tyr" style's pinup-girl flyaway extensions -- oh-so-gently curling about the face -- are so so smex, no? I thought color streaks were such a must with this style; luckily there's many pretty choices (along with roots options) in the Truth HUD. -- Btw these astro-piggies were such sweet moon buddies; they promised to catch me my very own star too, just as soon as my rocket went off.

Squirrelstar Galactica.

Now here's the annoying thing about supercute li'l squirrel aviators: they just luhs to brag about their uber-cool, miniature flying spaceships, that no one else (non-squirrel, I mean) can ever see. -- Take my good friend Charlie here: today he was boasting all over the place that he owns not just one of these super special spaceships, but three. Now that's just mean.

This newest round of Collabor88 has the notably whimsical theme of Steampunk, and the A+ creator lineup has interpreted this to mean many versatile stylings (not just necessarily futuristic Victorian). I particularly loved these this retro cutout minidress (which could easily pass as Old Hollywood glam as well), and don't even get me started about these utterly fab doorbells by Intrigue Co.: I just had to incorporate 1 of these into my look today in some way. -- And 'cuz life is just better with freebies, both my striped 'n bowtied nails + this whimsically antler'ed gaslamp are completely free, courtesy of a new hunt that you can read about here.

Speaking of Steampunk, has everyone read The Infernal Devices? It's better-written-than-usual bubblegum tween lit that I devoured this summer, then forgot about, and then re-discovered on my phone last week that totes got me into the Steampunk mood. -- Too bad this author's other movie rather bombed at the box office, but these prequels are so much better than that one, anyway. Now you have your next bathroom reading!
