It's 1 of the best times all year to go shopping on the grid, meaning the wooly mammoth-sized bounty of fashionista riches awaiting you at Collabor88's annual birthday festival, where 2x (or is it 3x?) the amount of regular designers are invited to show their best new wares. From Maitreya to Mandala, Teefy to Glam Affair, this annual gathering of the grid's A-list creators is simply bursting with pretty things for the scooping. -- I also happen to think that this round's "Odyessy" theme is particularly brilliant -- calling out to the wanderer in all of us, especially during this high summer season of travel and roaming -- a theme which many of the C88 designers have interpreted to be all kinds of godddess pretty. I paired this elegant wraparound toga-esque dress by Teefy with some superluxe new gold jewelry by Mandala (fans bracelets, adorned with gems? Diamond-encrusted watches? O yes!) and also this brand-new "Artemis" skin by Glam Affair, featuring an unmistakeably ingenue pout + a versatile palette of makeups, ranging from the natural to the painbox colored (I particularly liked the "04" I'm wearing here, featuring this modern pink-brown lipstain).

And in other news, Daddy Zeus always likes to keep an eye on his li'l girl. Hehe.

The Good Girl.

The newest round at Collabor88 explores the rich theme of "Nostalgia," which most of the C88 designers have seemed to interpret as classic, timeless pieces with just a hint of vintage, which seem to go with just about everything. Across all of the offerings, what struck me about this ensemble are the superluxe textures: soft, satiny sheens; lustrous oversized pearls; + sweetly-trimmed ribboned separates. I couldn't resist mixing these beautiful silks, satins & pearl textures together; the new "Ainsley" shoulder-length shag by Truth -- 1 of my current must-haves for its easy, facile cool -- offered a modern, mussed-up touch to these traditional good-girl styles. 

Don't you find that candy is an instant mood-lifter? (That is, unless you interact with it in this absolutely @#$! rip-your-hair-out way. Curse you superfun evil genius game!)

Btw these close-ups are 'cuz I am sooo utterly in luhs with this new Glam Affair skin (named after one of SL's most prolific bloggers). I found the entire makeup line so pretty and glamorous; normally, I would have gone my usual dark hair tones for this look, but I thought that this light blonde was such a pretty foil against these sumptuous eggplant hues.

Styling Studies.

Don'tcha just love it when SL iconic creators relaunch their store in the name of bigger + better things? Fishy Strawberry creator Fae Eriksen has done just that (hence her crazy sale at the end of last year), and as per usual, Fae's new 2014 mesh releases are impeccably detailed + are such a creative fusion of both the girlie + the smex. I always appreciate that the Fishy Strawberry looks are extremely versatile: you can mix 'n match the different pieces so easily, which as fashionistas know, is tres important when trying to find that perfect piece to finish a look. For me, this means that Fae's designs are always a smart buy.

Btw I would be amiss if I didn't mention this free braided crown hair by Truth, which you've hopefully already scoopied from the subscribo (1 of his prettiest gifts yet, which is really saying something, given how nice his previous Xmas gifts have been; plus you get so many hair colors); this dramatic butterfly makeup skin (such a find by Glam Affair) & these utterly fab jewels, new by Baiastice -- all of which I deeply appreciate as total high-impact "statement" items, which for me, are exactly the kind of pieces that make styling perennially fun.

Smelly Detour.

When finding oneself lost in the sewer pipes, it helps to have goggles (for mysterious wet things that might spray you), boots (for stepping in mysterious wet things) + a popsicle (to distract from the smell). Also, a  feisty elephant guide ('specially one with a perky bowtie) are the best guides for helping find your way out of the drains.
Hmmm. It's possible that I got a dud.
