Idyllic Mood.

NYC is officially on hurricane lockdown, meaning we're all essentially having what amounts to a snow day sprinkled with the angst of pending disaster (i.e., mass transit shut down, panic run on the grocery stores for water + batteries, etc.). Styling-wise, this meant a calming neutrals palette was definitely in order. I slipped on the newest nude suede ruched skirt & belted blazer set by Ricielli, this deliciously messy, 2-tone "Josie" style new by Truth + some new coral-toned Donna Flora jewels. And since some alcohol is never amiss in a disaster, this free yummy pumpkin cocktail helped calm the nerves a bit. *slurps generously*
We NYCers are no strangers to weather; still, I must say that these whirling "wind tunnel" noises are a bit scary. Searching for flashlights love + fashionista kisses to all!

Cloudy Blue.

Bright colors are one of the funnest ways to brave the chillier weather. Take this sky blue, chocolate-sashed coat by Drift for example; I added some candy pink touches for extra color punch, like these new blush-toned ankle booties by Donna Flora, a new ribboned clutch purse by Magic Nook + this gorges 2-tone, side braided, bouffant "Cheyenne" style new by Truth; a splash of sea green jewelry (all new by Donna Flora) added extra vibrance to this already-colorful punch.
I don't usually do vendor signage, but creator Squinternet Larnia is way too talented to refuse. Check out a close-up of her beautiful new "Ermes" mesh boots + shoes, which are tres lovely in these jewel + natural tones.

Arizona Dreamin'.

And this is how I do "pumpkin" tones this time of year.
This look is more a combo of russet + orange hues, with a splash of turquoise; this archetypal "Southwest desert" color scheme reminded me how much I miss the Arizona sky, where a spectacular mix of dust + light creates technicolor sunsets every night (the likes of which I've yet to see anywhere else on this planet).
