Fall Forms.

More fall-friendly looks from Collabor88 and The Arcade for you today, decorated with li'l accessories like this gorges pocketwatch necklace (meticulously detailed + a mere $25L by Sleepy Eddy) and striped wooden heart long necklace, both of which went swimmingly with this new cape by Milk Motion + this wee li'l pup, festooned with ribbon, a cute outfit + even a doggie bone name tag. Hehe.
Quick notes on these hairs: the top one is the latest "Venus" style by Truth (tres elegant with its sideswept pieces + finer trailing hairs entwining so daintily together on the side), and the beret hair is from Clawtooth, which I loved with the eensy weensy bowtie at the end of the braid (although having lived in Paris for a spell, I feel compelled to note that no one in France actually wears berets except for old men playing boules in the park; still, that's no reason not to fully enjoy a Frenching kinda mood in SL).
And in other news, you know it's Fall when pumpkins + such start popping up on the grid. I doubled up this new wooden wheeled-scene by Pilot with this new scrumptious candy apples platter by Floorplan (luhs the retro scalloped edges on the cake tray!). The grilled cheese & tomato soup bed tray just felt seasonally appropro (i.e., warm + cuddly for Fall, etc.).

Glam Affair has been knocking it outta the park lately with their skin offerings at Collabor88, and their recent "Margot" offerings are simply some of the finest (and most versatile) skin steals on the grid. I paired these pouty mulberry lips with a brand-new apple green cap-sleeved top by Teefy + tomato-red sashed shorts; a deliciously blue-black hair, too many accessories (including a new free gold birdcage necklace) + an attitudinal pose helped pull this casual look together. -- Color overload? Pffft. No such thing.

It's a new round of goodies at Collabor88, and this round features tons of weather-themed pretties (I chose a sunny disposition today). Check out this this cheerful column dress (which totes reminded me of a Gustav Klimt texture), which I paired with this blooming orange-printed umbrella + some beach-ready retro sunglasses; some fire-engine red lips + tangerine nails added a touch o' breezy glam.
I'm also showing you the latest "Vanity" eye line by IKON, which departs from creator Ikon Innovia's usual super-realistic take on eyes with a slightly muted color palette + a ghostly, otherworldly look to this glowy iris. Take a look.

Look Like A Lady, Work Like A Boss.

Now that every RL jeweler's frenzied hell Valentine's Day is over, I can finally show you some lovely things from my fave monthly event on the grid, Collabor88, which has returned with the sweeping theme of "Imagination." Look for a lively mix of colors, pastels & fanciful moods; I particularly loved how Intrigue Co. creator Katharine McGinnis' animated "Kaleidospecs" glasses tickled my fancy (check out the painted "jazz hands" frames!) + these over-the-top, feather-plumed "Phoenix" wings by Boom made me hope that somebody works these wings into RuPaul-styled blog post soon, heh. And in skin whore news, anyone who reads this blog knows that I was absolutely obsessed with Illusory's "Paige" skin for a looong minute; I was therefore beyond excited to see that creator Crushed Clarity has brought back a paler version with cherry red glossy lips (!) for this round of Collabor88. Needless to say, this drop-dead gorge skin was on my avi faster than you can say vintage pinup. -- There's so much to love about this dollfaced skin; its I might look like a lady but it's all rawr + Martinis in the bedroom expression is truly brill.

And when all else fails, plonk yo'self down + have a bit o' chocolate.

I must also mention that this romantically sideswept ponys hair by Truth is on sale for $88L at Collabor88 (!); so any ponytail fiends like moi will wanna snap this one up sooner than you can say truck driver mouth.

Arcade Love.

It's no secret that SL has become inundated with events, which is why I was especially honored to blog The Arcade, the exceptional quarterly gatcha mania event that's very similar in "feel" to Collabor88 in that the participating creators vigorously flex their creative muscles for each unmistakeably innovative installment (vs recycling pre-existing creations for sale). The result is strikingly innovative, gotta-have-it items that means bye bye $L for us shopoholics. -- Since I was all busy getting the furball when The Arcade first debuted, I was suuuper excited to show you some of my faves from this 2nd round, together with the brand-new, beautifully glowy "Amberly" skin by Glam Affair (wet, berry-stained lips? Yes please!)
Deep meditations are such a calming way to start the day.
And in home furnishings news, this marvelously detailed nail polish stand (check out the 3 cotton ball holders on top!) by uber-innovative home design creator Kaz Nayar for Pilot could be the best use of 1 (!) prim count (and $10L) ever. Luhs!
I was so impressed with this meticulously built nail rack (for a hunt gift, no less!) that I also had to also show you Kaz's offering for The Arcade, which is this utterly enchanting, miniaturized model "winter town," complete with tiny frozen lake and bridge. -- Now this is the kind of thing that's just 100% pure creator love (I personally adore things like this with zero practical purpose, in any life). You gotta have respect for anyone who invests so much care into purely creative yummy stuff; check out the little snowdrifts on the trees, and teensy holiday lights, and you'll get a sense of the loving detail put into this whimsical item. -- Special *mwuahs* to Vixie Rayna for telling me that her RL family sets out something like this every year, hehe.
