The latest round at Collabor88 has just kicked off with the fun theme of "Back to Business," and I luhs how the C88 designers have interpreted this to mean the new office casual: I chose a primary colors set that I'd totes wear to the office (I mean, how can bright cherry reds, rich yellows + deep indigo blues help but break up the office doldrums)? -- Plus everyone appreciates a li'l girlie girl headband action (you boys in engineering -- I'm talkin' to you), 'specially at all those hopelessly dull office meetings. This newest smexeh kitteneh "Lolita" headband style by Truth (another delish Collabor88 find) did the job nicely.
Wait -- what do you mean, it's not Bring Your Pet To The Office Day? My puggie here put on his special panda outfit + everything. -- OK I just made a new office rule. Every day is Bring Your Pet To The Office Day! So there. Hehe.

Hollywould Dreams.

Ahhh Hollywood. Isn't it dreamy? Sometimes when I'm doing a li'l housework, I like to practice that seemingly lost art of not-really-shocked-yet-earnestly-modest acceptance speeches. Only I never get nervous, 'cuz its only my teeny tiny kittycat + wooden toy dog who hears them. -- Those guys are always such a great audience. Hehe.
You can scoopie all these cute housewares -- and this hi-wattage glamorous "Aria" skin by Glam Affair (try to score the handy pre-set makeup combos! I luhs this one with the deep pink eyeshadow, tres Hollywood) at the newest round of The Arcade, which I paired with this week's new "Lovers" headband hair by Truth (pink & orange is so New Hollywood, don'tcha think)? -- Now this is a very girlie girl thing to observe, but I must also add that the most flattering part about this 'do is the gently-swept puffy bangs + puffy high crown area, which offer precisely just the right amount of "poof" (the headband is optional on/off too). -- Now if only this perfect "poof" was as easy to achieve in RL (le sigh).

Don't you find that fast food has a certain... transporting quality? 'Specially fries. Mmmm fries.
As we've come to expect by now, The Arcade has become 1 of the grid's most reliable spots to grab the tastiest new SL foodie noms, like this scrumptious strawberry cake & whipped cream slice, piping hot tea + even some notably detailed flowers (the camera was 'cuz I couldn't resist a li'l selfie whilst munching). Plus everybody knows that breakfast in bed is tres Hollywood.

Star Painting.

Lunar Landing.

The beloved readers of this blog already know that I rarely do white hair, but hey, you gotta figure all that zero-gravity stuff is simply murder on one's natural organic hair color treatments. Hehe.
My lunar landing today was inspired by this month's "Supernova" theme at Collabor88: and what an intergalatic ensemble it is, from naughty space-age dresses (like this plastic-strapped one by Faenzo that I'm wearing here) to oversized gems + industrial metal tones in accessories. -- Plus again with the hair, this new "Tyr" style's pinup-girl flyaway extensions -- oh-so-gently curling about the face -- are so so smex, no? I thought color streaks were such a must with this style; luckily there's many pretty choices (along with roots options) in the Truth HUD. -- Btw these astro-piggies were such sweet moon buddies; they promised to catch me my very own star too, just as soon as my rocket went off.

Postcards from Grid: Dreaming of The Far Away.

And for your viewing pleasure today, a few snapshots from some recent art installations and other builds from around the grid. This first skeletal yet graceful leafy man sculpture by SL builder Nessuno Myoo is whimsically entitled "In The Game Of Life We Are As Leaves In The Wind," which I first spied on this SL exploration blog here (+ was itching to get a closer look).

I quite enjoyed the way one enters this part of the LEA20 SIM (where this installation is located): you TP here onto a boat landing huddled with skeletal ghosties, all waiting to board small rafts (which you can do as well by clicking "Sit"); but to see the leafy man sculpture, click on the little brown box instead (tucked discreetly to one side of the platform, with the small red hand above it) + select "TRIM" (short for Temporary Rez Inventory Mess, a curated collection by Eupalinos Ugajin). You'll land amidst a scattering of buildings and structures; zoom around a little until you see the leafy man, near a giant fan (you'll see plenty of other visually striking displays all around).

This little home was secretly hiding nearby, tucked into a giant floating Cubism-inspired wooden floating structure; I found it both daring yet carefree that the greeting sign simply says "Memory."
And in non-art installation news, I always love to drift into the BCC store build, where creator Vitamingirl has assembled a serene, dreamy landscape, chock-full of the kind of quiet, wistful tableaus pulled straight out of a Miyazaki film. As someone who rarely leaves her photo platform, it's pleasantly revitalizing to do some grid-hopping, if only to take a moment to gaze at the wondrous things that SL builders and creators have so carefully assembled for our visual enjoyment. Plus who knows? You might even pick up some fresh inspiration for your own (RL or SL) creations along the way.
