I've been showing lotsa pretty girlie-girl looks in recent posts so now it's high time to switch gears for some casual cool looks. Plus I've been missing my frugalistas lately, so from skin to shoes, these looks are either cheapies or gifties (a few exceptions are noted here + in the Styling Credits).
Check out this free puffy nylon black vest from Minutes to Midnight. If you join the group for $10L, this + oodles of other free gifties are waiting to be scooped in the "Notices" tab. (When I was there this week there were other $1L + $5L gifts on a table too). I'm also wearing the new free black turtleneck by Luxurious World. The textures on it are really nice + I adore the cute 2-button detail on the collar. The free thick black leather belt gift from Coco was such a 'nach with this snug jeans look (how cute is this Hello Kitty stencil detail)?
My pretty headband hair in this lovely red color comes free, courtesy of the Liriope lucky board. Make sure to scoop the other freebies here too -- especially the suuupercute sage green flower hat hair too (which includes a gorges golden-brown hair just peeking out of it). The cute 8-ball hand tattoo was a cheapie that I scooped at This Way for a mere $25L.
I was tres impressed with Michi Fhang's Fhang Candy skins that I previously blogged here, so I went back to the store to see if there were any gifties that I missed. Sure enough, I had somehow overlooked this free orange makeup pale skin (to get it, buy the Halloween pumpkin in the center of the store for $0L). -- I don't usually wear such a pale tone, but this pretty skin was such a 'natch with this hair color. (The previously blogged tan "glowy" $10L skins are still out for the taking as well).

This next chillax look is a combo of the fabby $1L white denim button-down shirt by Gabriel (this is their gift in honor of Men's Fashion Week) + a cute black denim miniskirt available at Kanival Tattoo (there's tons of other gifties there too like leggings, tattoos + other free or $1L goodies). The black shearling boots are the free monthly gift at SF Designs, which I thought capped off this casual look. (These are for men but they are so editable for us ladies).
Check out this exceptionally-detailed, all-over hearts tattoo that's free from Kanival. I so appreciate it when you get your choice of different stengths of ink too (I like to switch up between the dark + the faded strengths, depending on my look). You can get it from their lucky "dance stands" (instead of lucky chair); once your letter comes up, you do a celebratory li'l jig *giggles*. The "?" here shows up as the "@" sign instead, which actually comes up quite often -- something you notice if you happen to have a tres tempermental letter like moi.

These hot-t-t-t cuffs bracelets by Zaara are neither new nor free, but some of my all-time faves. Check out this absolutely crazy detail. Both wrists offer a different series of floral prints too. This chunky intermix of floral brocade textures, large chunky beads + tiny "strung" thin cuffs is just pitch-perfect. So something I would buy in RL! Here's a closer look at that 8-ball hand tat too.
Isn't this side bun updo hair adorable? The colors fatpack is free in the Kitsune Couture subscribo. The whole bun thing is not always my style, but I find this swirly, tilted updo tres modern + cute.
This last dress is just one of many cute free finds at the Wink*l store, where everything is 100% free -- including the red rug on the 1st floor. This petite mint-green tie is unmistakably girlie + the silver studded "swirls" detail adds extra funness to this retro style. There's some cute tops here + upstairs you can snag more stuffs like free piercings, a free "dirty" couch + even a free gas station! Isn't the useless stuff the best? Fun times.
This cutesy bob hair is the free cute January group gift from AY.LinE + the little hairpins on the side are color-change too. You get 2 head sizes included with a mini-color fatpack.

Finally, check out this lush li'l patch of spring heaven. This pretty "meadow" patch includes tiny flitting butterflies + flower blooms tucked into the grass blades. There's also an 8-sit double-bench (it faces both ways), additional lounging poses on the grass itself (for at least 3 friends), a pretty green hanging lamp (you can spy it on the right) + a drop-dead gorges wooden "frame" veranda with crawling ivy. Isn't it tres dreamy?

Hucci Mama

Anyone who reads this blog knows that /me has had a long passionate luhs affair with creator Eboni Khan's work for Hucci. There's something about her clothes that lets us females feel suuupersexy yet kinda badass at the same time. (Plus this fashionista's got some junk in her trunk + I do appreciate how Eboni's fashions always suit us booty gals).
Hucci's lovely "Glitterfly" dress is debuting at the Hucci mainstore tonight + Eboni kindly passed me a review copy to show you all. This is such a pretty, girlish number -- and particularly easy to wear since if (like Eboni observes) you get a bit tired of adjusting prim skirts. Plus I love how this "snug" loose skirt is such a great alternative to the traditional miniskirt.
For my frugalistas, I wanted to show this pretty new free hair by Beauty Salon Cri-Cri (thanks Lisamun for helping me find this thing in the store)! Isn't this long, asymmetrical bangs style pretty? You get a pop-up menu to choose between the included fatpack of colors too.
I've been parading around the grid in another Hucci creation -- this casual cool "Tasha" hoodie minidress, with a slung-back hoodie that sits just below the nape of the neck + a V-neck zip-up front. This kind of sexy, relaxed look is so my style. I was actually wearing a 'kerchief in RL last night (bad hair day) so felt inspired to slip on this free hair by Kitsune (who's having a cool $19L hair sale right now, for anyone who hasn't yet done a drive-by).
Isn't this "Ruby Tears 2" necklace divine? I just finished doing a "Style Diary" profile (which I blogged yesterday here) on Donna Flora when creator Squinternet Larnia passed me the LM to her new Donna Flora store: Donna Flora Bonin (which is now open, yayers!) This spectacular red, pink and gold necklace, featuring ruby briolette droplets "dripping" from the neckline, is truly magnificent. I luhs that you can wear it with either red or pink too!
For all my frugalistas, Eboni regularly gives out free gift cards via her subscribo, so if you haven't yet tapped it, you should definitely do so (she just sent out another $100L one yesterday -- which I actually didn't get only 'cuz my NCs + IMs cap out like every minute, LOL).

Style Diary: Vintage Glam by Donna Flora

Being a RL jewelry designer, the Donna Flora line has always caught my admittedly tres nitpicky eye for it's striking use of color, gemstones + exceptional details, even in single pendants.
Not many designers can move easily from one creative medium to another (trust me -- in any life!), so I was tres impressed to discover that creator Squinternet Larnia's clothing pieces emulate the same elegant feel as her Donna Flora jewelry line. There is a sophisticated vintage glam mood evoked by many of Squinternet's fashions that hearkens back to the uber-feminine styles shown in the old movies that she loves so much. (Squinternet says that she likes to picture what her grandmother would have worn when going out. Awwws).

Check out this first retro glam ensemble. The fashion, jewels and even the "Giulia" hair (which comes with this stunning black beaded veil) are all Squinternet's creations. Great Gatsby! does this headpiece look polished with Squinternet's high-waisted "Karen" pantsuit. The smoky pink of this ruffled shirt plays against these black-buttoned trousers so prettily for this killer chic ensemble. To me, this headpiece totally screams "flapper girl." Can't you so easily picture this veil with a black knee-length fringed dress too?
A quick word for my frugalistas: I can't seem to take off this free monthly gift "Leona" skin here by Oceane's Body Shop (currently the group is still $0L to join, so if you like this skin, I would recommend joining now). There's something about this skin that so woman of the world sophisticated. (Just check out this face: this is not a woman to be trifled with). Paired with the new free cerulean blue eyes gift by Poetic Colors, this look conveys a certain worldly intelligence + that ooh-la-la, je ne sais quoi.
In a clever move, many of Squinternet's fashions integrate jewelry into the garment itself. Check out the "Brocade" dress, featuring this spectacular "shoulder necklace" of bezel-set rubies (!) that cascades down into a cluster of more bezeled gems at the bodice.
There's something oh-so-regal about this bejeweled touch; plus I adore how the super-delicate blooms of this dress texture totally contrasts against its bold, stately shoulder piece. In a generous move, these superluxe "scrolling" chandelier earrings come included in this outfit too. It's like having jewelry 2 ways: both in the dress and as earrings (instead of these items being sold separately). So. Fab.
This next eye-popping gown features sequined arcs + curves in the fabric, which to me, emulate the same movement + shine of liquid metal (pardon my jewelry designer's eye). This "Celine" design uses tiny "swipes" of gold metallic sequins scattered thuout this dress. Paired with the thin straps + semi-naughty cleavage, this posh look totally channels a retro, sultry, Fred Astaire-era lounge vixen. In modern terms, it's The. Smex.
On the girlish tip, I fell in luhs with this next satin concoction, the ready-to-party "Dudu" dress (which comes in bronze, cream and silver). The lustrous shine on these rich, satiny folds really accentuates the dramatic draping of this dress.
I paired this look with the stately "Miss-G" jewels (the same as I wore with the "Celine" dress above). This triple-strand black pearl choker, with its large, offset diamond flower, adds the pitch-perfect elegant touch to this magnificent gown. Lemme tellya, wearing this thing totally puts you in a ballroom dancing kinda mood.

O, I'm just a lonely wallflower. Woe is moi. Where the eff is my prince already?
Hell's bells, if my prince ain't a-comin', might as well strike a kyoot pose.
Finally, my tardy prince! I shall make him do a li'l twirly-twirl with moi. Drrrramatic dancing pose, yeah!
*giggles* Actually, poor Gavin generously let me drag him to the dreamy, ridic pretty Tempura SIM, where he had to dress up a bit due to the dress code there (it's a good one, befitting of the spectacular setting: basically, they just request that you don't look like a total slouch). He dug it -- after I thoughtfully gave him the 411 that ballroom dancing is tres macho.

Back to fashion, check out this crazy floral waist detail, which is even more apparent in the bronze color. See the meticulously gilded edges? This triple-row jade "Medea" necklace is such a showstopper too, featuring large blooming roses in gold. When worn against this deep bronze color, this rich, green + gold choker looks simply sumptuous.
I also have to say that I really appreciate how Squinternet's jewels are deliberately not necessarily of the super tiny variety -- yet still remain utterly feminine + ladylike. This is actually not the easiest thing to accomplish (trust me on this). This striking "Renee" necklace is just one example: check out these rectangular aqua stones trailing prettily down the chest, prettily intermixed with round white pearls + "sideways" squares of sky-blue aqua. So so pretty.
I know all my frugalistas wanna see the gifties (and for all you Donna Flora newbies, there's oodles of gifts at the store just waiting to be scooped -- such as the modern silver squares choker + earrings set previously blogged here + the gold-tinged necklace and gold-beaded ankle boots previously blogged here). I paired with the "Renee" necklace with this $1L pretty sleeveless "Bea" dress find -- which is not in the retro glam style but a fun, summery look, featuring a sexy-cut bodice with mock turtleneck collar.

These soft colors reminded me of yummeh gelato, so I had to just have meself a li'l (triple) cone here (which you thoughtfully get for free when you click the gelato trays at Creamshop. They so get that sometimes you need a li'l fashion refreshment). 'Scuze my li'l 'nosh break. Hee.
Just to show you how versatile Squinternet's jewels are -- and because these happen to be 2 of my all-time personal SL jewelry faves (I spied these at the Donna Flora booth at last summer's Jewelry Fair + have adored them to death ever since) -- I wanted to show you just how easily these Donna Flora jewels span a broad range of styles + also work with just about anything. (It ain't no news flash that for us fashionistas, the whole fun of SL fashion is the mix + match).

Check out these modern, keyholed, super smexeh minidresses -- a totally different style the retro glam looks above (frugalistas: these minisdresses are part of the current $0L or $1L in-store hunt at my beloved Alegria Designs; see the Styling Credits below for more info). This next playful necklace might be my fave jewelry piece ever: Squinternet's exquisite "gem charms" necklace, the "Gabriela (colors)". It's tres rare to find a jewelry piece that manages to be both unquestionably elegant and yet so totally fun -- and for me, this piece really encapsulates both. It's delectable jewelry candy fo' sho'.
As a quick aside, isn't it funny how sometimes you can just forget about something that you once so totally once loved? This Damselfly "Fallyn" brown hair in these photos is one of those for me. When I slipped it on, it felt like saying hi to an old friend. (I wore this thing the eff out). This sexy mane seemed perfect for this clean, modern look. I'm so ready for my South Beach (i.e., glammiest-beach-sexiness-at-nite) closeup in this getup.
My next personal favie is a notch-edged, bezel-wrapped choker featuring square stones and gold, which comes with matching earrings that I also love. This "Andrea" set is so unquestionably elegant + the colorless, chunky quality plays off so well with any bold colors. I love wearing this with any brightly-colored or black dress. See how Squinternet's pieces really punch up any look, any style?
Another note to the frugalistas: my hair in the above "Andrea" necklace photo is a really cute free one by Junwave for group members (it's $0L to join) who also have the store as a profile pick. Aren't these soft waves that frame the face so pretty? The pink bow is the perfect pale peachy-pink too (you even get an option to wear it without the bow).

Golden Girl

A lazy Sunday in RL for me means coffee, lazing around, reading The New York Times real estate section + possibly motivating to do a late brunch with friends. In SL, I counteract my RL slothliness by donning a li'l gold to counteract my un-glammy mood.
This free gorges golden sequin minidress that the Cherry Girl lucky boards are giving away is so pretty; love the double-ropes bodice detail right near les bewbies. This free plum and gold-tinged clover necklace from Donna Flora added just the right splash of smoky color to this golden look.
Isn't this messy side pony cute? It's so reasonably priced at only $150L at Cherry Girl, + I love the golden brown color. I've also been meaning to show these metallic gold leggings forever, which are free from the League subscribo. Pretty gold bead-rimmed ankle booties (that you can still scoop for free from Donna Flora) capped off this golden girl look.

These next shots showing two pretty free candy red + white lace-edged bra/panties sets (both also courtesy of the Cherry Girl lucky boards) really show off the glowy quality of this skin. Isn't the buttie cute?
It's somewhat hard to tell from the pix here, but this backside of this skin features those adorable tiny li'l indentations right above the buttie (you know, the kind you get when you're super diligent about quality time at the gym) that /me oh-so-loves. The hair I'm wearing in these lingerie photos is free as well -- it's the Zeus monthly group gift in this pretty golden brown color.
Now I'm off to daydream about someplace warm + balmy, with breezy palm trees + maybe a tall, dark rum pina colada in hand. Mmmm. *takes a looong dreamy sip*

Damaged: A New Life

Waking from an uneasy dream, Kira awoke to find herself transformed into one of the Zombied Ones. No longer human, her skin was red and blotchy, her eyes a gleaming silver.
Kira could feel the thrill of raw power pulsing through her limbs. She relished the feeling of being totally unbreakable.
She also keenly felt the urge to rip someone's head off.
A quick stroll outside revealed a noob human wandering the dark streets alone.
Upon seeing his flat skin and jagged hair, Kira felt a sudden flare-up of disgust and impatience. Acting on impulse, she decided to go for her first Kill.
Kira knew no authorities could touch her since human laws didn't apply to the Zombied Ones. Fits of uncontrollable giggling overcame her.
Determined to embrace her new life, Kira thought making new friends seemed like a good idea.
Zombied Ones were rumored to hang out at coffee houses, so she headed there first. She soon met Margaux DuFaux, who told Kira about the ways of Fashionista, a newly-revitalized sect in the Zombied Ones. Marg taught her how to channel her limb-severing anger into a fierce desire for shopping instead.
Marg also showed Kira how cupcakes were considered refined pleasures of civilized Zombied Ones.
A newfound and intense passion for both shopping and cupcake consumption followed. Kira was happy.
