Munchies Mix

Me, my gorges gf Diamondzz Destiny + our resident manshionista Gavin McGinnis were hangin' the other day when we started gettin' all grumpyface 'cuz we got a crazy case of the munchies. Luckily Famish store creator Whisper Despres intervened before the hair pulling + eye poking could begin by inviting us to sample her newest mouth treats. Here's a glimpse of the fun we had with these tasty noms.

"What, you don't wanna try my electric socket smoochies?"

Two of the most beautiful words in the English language: processed meat.
Diamondzz is one of the most elegant people I know, so it was personally funny to me that she opted for this somewhat hostile "Anti-Valentine" mouth treat. *giggles quietly to self*
All of these Famish items are a reasonable $50L + they come with cute optional animations like sad faces or smiles. I think of Whisper as SL's resident mad scientist of mouth treats: she's been known to make things like TNT for the mouth + customizable lucky boards for the mouth (where you can insert your own pix as what you "win," LOL). Uh oh, Spaghettios do we luhs anything that celebrates the silly.

Leggo My Aoharu

If the words frugalista + fashionista reside anywhere in your SL shopping soul, you've likely been trying to battle your way into the Aoharu + Anexx SIMs to do the grabby grabby thing at their much-anticipated 50% off sale.

Because these stores have such classic pieces for guys -- it's definitely one of Gavin's faves -- we thought it would be fun to shoot both guys + girls looks to show you. -- For my frugalistas: as usual I've tried to incorporate at least one freebie or other gift into nearly all of these looks, so even if you have zero spare $L, hopefully you'll still see some things you wanna scoop below.

I have a thing for jackets + when I saw this candy pink cropped leather one with roll-up sleeves + a blue denim lining, I was a goner. (Or more precisely, my $L were Just. Gone). This thing is bursting with details, from the gold studs on the jacket to the "rough" collar texture. I layered this jacket on top of one of my go-tos tank tops, the free white lace-edged pink "Spicy" tank by PARADISIS. -- Gavin's black vest + gray hoodie combo is one of my faves on him -- especially with these black "vintage wash" jeans. To me, this guys' look oozes relaxed cool, with none of that TTH-ing (you know, Trying Too Hard) thing.Here's a close-up to show a second look at the open black lace "patchwork" that's inset into these jeans. (Sorry this image is a tad fuzzy, SL refused to cooperate with me on this shot). The little scratchy textures might be '80s-retro but as in RL, that style period throwback simply refuses to vanish completely. LOL.
Isn't this 1-sided pony cap hair cute? It's also free, courtesy of the MM board at IrEn. It comes with your several color change optionns for both the hair + the cap. There's more cute free hairs here scattered thru the store (as hunt items + other gifties) too; be sure to scoop the free "Geisha" tattoo on the ground which is kinda cool (look near the freebies table).
I've had my sad, /me-wants-those eyes on these Anexx "ribbon pumps" for awhile now. Good thing 50% off sales are like, instant mood lifters! *happy dance*
One of the best men's holiday gifts previously at Le.Look! was the men's brown leather jacket by Aoharu. Gavin liked this jacket so much that he scooped the black leather version as well, which comes with the option of wearing a just-wrinkled, button-down black shirt inside (that's nicely unbuttoned at the bottom). -- Here I'm wearing Aoharu's belted black snakeskin trench dress which I have a feeling is gonna become my go-to for when I can't decide what to wear. You literally just slip it on + hey presto! Instant pulled-together look.

Yes, I am a Truth hair addict. This "Saskia" style is one that I actually purchased by mistake (by chatting + not paying attention + hitting the "Buy" button . . . danger!) -- and then promptly fell in luhs with. My $L have a deep + abiding connection with the Truth store and I am powerless to stop it. *sighs*
These Aoharu lace-up platforms are both dramatic + sexy; the gold-tinged ribbon at the back adds just the right oomph of color contrast. These are such a statement, especially when worn with a clean or relatively simple black look, so that the ribbon lace-ups on these really pop against the legs.
Gavin + I decided to do a li'l record shopping, so a more dress-down vibe was in order. Check out this slouchy, off-the-shoulder zebra top that I'm modeling here, that I paired with these black lace "patchwork" gray jeans (both by Aoharu). The PacMan necklace is free by Ducknipple + this ridic sexy "Reese" hair (with choppy layers that fall longer in the front) is -- yup, from Truth.
Isn't this skin divine? It's free in the Cupcakes group Notices (the group join fee is currently $0L until I believe this coming Sunday). These undereye bags are somewhat of a novelty in face-perfect SL skinland; there's funny "drunken" skins included in the gift too.
Gavin is modeling the Aoharu men's jeans in "vintage blue" wash here. He's also showing last week's $1L men's fashion week giftie from Connors, this beige henley with a nicely shaded V-neck collar.
Of course a certain someone couldn't resist the 99 cents bin.

"Geez, they don't they have any old Boyz II Men albums here! -- Wait! Is that an original Britney Spears in this 99 cents bin? Score!"
Meanwhile I was having awes vinyl scoring luck too. Here's me getting my paws on an original De La Soul 12" -- also in the 99 cents section! Somebody really needs to pay better attention about their store inventory here.
These Anexx yellow gold "fringe pumps" were so yummehs that I had to score the fatpack (actually the best deal for how many colors you get, especially after the 50% off). -- See how my SL gfs failed at preventing me from yet another shoes splurge? *giggles* Oh wellz. Life goes on.
Check out how snuggly these light pink Anexx boots are. You get your choice of 2 textures; I'm showing the "Nordic" legwarmers knit here. My calves are so warm + toasty now. Oh yes.
This is another denim jacket by Aoharu (it comes with an optional leopard print which I've left off here), which I've paired a sexy sheer cami from Sassy! that you can get for free in its subscribo. I'm also wearing the free Fhang Candy skin that you can win in the store's MM board. The skin has intensely-hued makeup with a candy-pink lip, and a gorgeous tan glow. *mwuahs Michi Fhang for the bazillionth time*

Gavin is wearing the free unisex sunglasses gift for the the Shoes & Accessories Hunt by Kumaki Glasses Style (this is such an awes store for both glasses + sunglasses), which come in your choice of customizable tints + shading colors. I'm wearing another color of the Aoharu black lace "patchwork" jeans here. -- Aaaah this brisk winter air is so great for striking these super nonchalant poses.
Now for just the thing after a hard day of elbow jostling + battling the dreaded lag monster . . . a foot massage . . . by a guy! This sweet + funny foot massage animation chair is the Burning Hearts Hunt gift from Kabuki Creations + comes with a gentle foot stroking ani. -- Ladies: this is life as it should be, no? Many thanks to Dudda Susa for helping me with this one . . . . my weary feets were thanking you girl! *mwuah*
The Aoharu + Anexx SIM sale runs thru January 24, so you have time. If you've got some $L to spare, shoe mavens will wanna do an Anexx drive-by. At the 50% off price, most shoes seemed to be under $300L (with some under $200L). -- At Aoharu, a single piece of women's clothing started roughly around $150L-$200L; guys' clothing started even lower (for example, jeans and tops seemed were around $100L per color). Fatpacks were also a far better deal per item so make sure you check them before you buy the single (I found these worth it if you really like 2 or more colors of the same style).

O you amazing sales. Why do you always end up costing me more $L? *sigh*

Look Ma, I Got An Owie

For some reason this morning I woke up with owies all over my body. Luckily, one of my go-to smexehgear stores, PARARDISIS, had the perfect solution to that particular prob.

Check out this brand-new naughty lingerie that you can get for free via the PARARDISIS MM board. This bright, cherry red color is way fun + I luhs that one particularly saucy band-aid angled just-so, above one nip (FYI these shots attempt to minimize nipple exposure -- just trying to keep it PG here, hee hee).
There's tiny li'l bandaids dotted thruout this bra, panties + stockings set (even one on the buttie). Just to cover all my owies, I slipped on a previous $50L skin gift from Tyranny Designs which has a cute heart band-aid on the nose + seemed to go with this lingerie perfectly.

The hair I'm wearing is one of the $50L styles currently being offered by Maitreya to aid in the Haiti disaster relief. Not only is this a worthy cause + a fantastic price, but /me always likes the stylish way that Maitreya does their hat hairs: it's like too-cool-for-school meets unmistakeably soft + feminine.

There are 2 hair colors available (blonde + brunette) at $50L each per shade. I'm wearing the blonde version above. The brunette color is below, which I paired with another pretty free Fhang Candy skin (this ruby-red lipped one is a 20-minute camping gift). These dark, arched brows + pouty lips give this pale skin tone a tres glam feel. See how my girl Michi Fhang has got me all wearing these paler skin tones now. *mwuahs Michi*
I paired this look with these fabulous black "Licorice" pumps by Nardcotix. These are one of 3 of this store's ladies' gifts for the Shoes & Accessories Hunt (so generous!) + these patent leather ones normally go for $500L. Love the perfectly-done pointed toe on these + the not-too-shiny shine texture is really top-notch. (There's a supercute red plaid T-strap shoes gift here that's also very much worth snatching).
There's also a new free 10-minute subscribo group camping gift at my beloved U&R Dogs which I wanted to quickly show you (even tho' I couldn't get in to camp for it until after I took these shots). These narrow gold hoops w/ tiny found beaded jewels dangling off the bottom are so perfect for when you just wanna add a touch of yellow gold or color to cap off a look. As always, this store excels at detail, like this tiny ring of diamonds looped around the center. I've been showing lotsa pretty girlie-girl looks in recent posts so now it's high time to switch gears for some casual cool looks. Plus I've been missing my frugalistas lately, so from skin to shoes, these looks are either cheapies or gifties (a few exceptions are noted here + in the Styling Credits).
Check out this free puffy nylon black vest from Minutes to Midnight. If you join the group for $10L, this + oodles of other free gifties are waiting to be scooped in the "Notices" tab. (When I was there this week there were other $1L + $5L gifts on a table too). I'm also wearing the new free black turtleneck by Luxurious World. The textures on it are really nice + I adore the cute 2-button detail on the collar. The free thick black leather belt gift from Coco was such a 'nach with this snug jeans look (how cute is this Hello Kitty stencil detail)?
My pretty headband hair in this lovely red color comes free, courtesy of the Liriope lucky board. Make sure to scoop the other freebies here too -- especially the suuupercute sage green flower hat hair too (which includes a gorges golden-brown hair just peeking out of it). The cute 8-ball hand tattoo was a cheapie that I scooped at This Way for a mere $25L.
I was tres impressed with Michi Fhang's Fhang Candy skins that I previously blogged here, so I went back to the store to see if there were any gifties that I missed. Sure enough, I had somehow overlooked this free orange makeup pale skin (to get it, buy the Halloween pumpkin in the center of the store for $0L). -- I don't usually wear such a pale tone, but this pretty skin was such a 'natch with this hair color. (The previously blogged tan "glowy" $10L skins are still out for the taking as well).

This next chillax look is a combo of the fabby $1L white denim button-down shirt by Gabriel (this is their gift in honor of Men's Fashion Week) + a cute black denim miniskirt available at Kanival Tattoo (there's tons of other gifties there too like leggings, tattoos + other free or $1L goodies). The black shearling boots are the free monthly gift at SF Designs, which I thought capped off this casual look. (These are for men but they are so editable for us ladies).
Check out this exceptionally-detailed, all-over hearts tattoo that's free from Kanival. I so appreciate it when you get your choice of different stengths of ink too (I like to switch up between the dark + the faded strengths, depending on my look). You can get it from their lucky "dance stands" (instead of lucky chair); once your letter comes up, you do a celebratory li'l jig *giggles*. The "?" here shows up as the "@" sign instead, which actually comes up quite often -- something you notice if you happen to have a tres tempermental letter like moi.

These hot-t-t-t cuffs bracelets by Zaara are neither new nor free, but some of my all-time faves. Check out this absolutely crazy detail. Both wrists offer a different series of floral prints too. This chunky intermix of floral brocade textures, large chunky beads + tiny "strung" thin cuffs is just pitch-perfect. So something I would buy in RL! Here's a closer look at that 8-ball hand tat too.
Isn't this side bun updo hair adorable? The colors fatpack is free in the Kitsune Couture subscribo. The whole bun thing is not always my style, but I find this swirly, tilted updo tres modern + cute.
This last dress is just one of many cute free finds at the Wink*l store, where everything is 100% free -- including the red rug on the 1st floor. This petite mint-green tie is unmistakably girlie + the silver studded "swirls" detail adds extra funness to this retro style. There's some cute tops here + upstairs you can snag more stuffs like free piercings, a free "dirty" couch + even a free gas station! Isn't the useless stuff the best? Fun times.
This cutesy bob hair is the free cute January group gift from AY.LinE + the little hairpins on the side are color-change too. You get 2 head sizes included with a mini-color fatpack.

Finally, check out this lush li'l patch of spring heaven. This pretty "meadow" patch includes tiny flitting butterflies + flower blooms tucked into the grass blades. There's also an 8-sit double-bench (it faces both ways), additional lounging poses on the grass itself (for at least 3 friends), a pretty green hanging lamp (you can spy it on the right) + a drop-dead gorges wooden "frame" veranda with crawling ivy. Isn't it tres dreamy?

Freckle Face

A certain someone I know kinda has a thing for freckles, and this lovely free freckles skin gift by Bubble is so pretty that I just had to show it you.
Check out the adorable face on this free skin. It's tres innocent + girlish, and the lavendar lip is both unusual + kewl. (I have frex in RL, so I deeply appreciate seeing a heavier freckles effect). I thought this gamine look went so well with the free profile picks gift dress by Designing Nicky Ree -- shimmery, drapey layers of gossamer pink, plus the floral 1-shoulder detail is so lovely (many thanks to my friend Margaux DuFaux for telling about this amazing store long ago!) I have a feeling that this diaphanous number is already gonna make my top 10 for this year.
I luhs the way these flowers curl over the shoulder. The single drape flowing down the back of this dress is so goddess-like too.
These 2-tone pink heels by R2 seemed a 'natch with this outfit.
This free Ohmai bodysuit has already made the freebie blog rounds, but the high-buttie cut was so super smex that I just had to model it here. Like the dress above, this is another 1-shoulder look (also with floral detail) that is both elegant + sexy.
This buttie-friendly bodysuit seemed the perfect vehicle to show you another recent skin fave of mine by Fhang Candy. This store is typically overlooked (admittedly, by myself as well) but I have to say that I'm tres impressed with the "glowy," dewy sheen of this skin. This was one of 2 recent Christmas skin gifts set out in-store (one was $5L and the other $10L; not sure which one this was) but there's a MM board here with a skin similar to this one, plus I believe the store is currently having a massive sale. Isn't it a beauty?

Normally I'm not really a short hair kinda gal, but this free "Jess" style from Truth is a happy exception. The crown height to this asymmetric, modern bob makes all the difference re: the smex factor. Plus the little bobbypins on the side are just the cutest.
Just to show how versatile this awes bodysuit is, I slipped on a black feather miniskirt (a previous gift from Malt)+ a lace-up ties pants layer from 1 of my go-tos for when I just need a black mini, the PixelDolls "Everything" black skirt (this is/was such a steal at the store's ongoing $10L retirement sale).

Btw if you like the first frex skin above, the Bubble store has several other superfun free group gifts, including a pretty hummingbird/daisy chest tattoo + some yummeh "swirl" lollipops (with both hand + mouth attachments) in a color fatpack. (I believe their other location has a trailing above-the-buttie free daisy tattoo as well, which I'll try to find the sLURL for).
