Yuletide Fair

Just playing around with some dark tones today. Among my current faves: this week's new "Tammy" pouffed updo by Truth, the latest zebra-striped mesh dress by Aura + the noir sparkly glitter dress on sale at TDR by House of Fox.
One truly remarkable aspect about SL is how multi-cultural our community is -- and how easily we can all embrace diversity, at least in our individual style. Many creators are honoring the Year of the Dragon with adorable Chinese New Year gifties, like these paper cutout framed pictures free by bbqq; today's look also celebrates red as the traditionally lucky color, from this free cherry-striped mesh dress to the new cerise bloom earmuffs by Boom (something about this rich cherry color so reminds me of the Beats headphones I keep seeing on hipster heads around Manhattan).
In other news, if you haven't rolled around in a messy pool of spilled liquid recently -- well, you just haven't been embracing your inner video vixen. *strums air guitar, flicks more tea in hair*
It's sorta funny that after I shot this thing, I found the RL figurine (that I'm guessing this was inspired by) on flickr here, hehe.

Gavin also signed up to be my guinea pig, hehe. (This was more to test out my cheap-ass tablet, which I finally attempted to do after watching the ridic crazy talented Trace here).
There are many more peeps much more adept at photo work than I (this is self-evident, if you just prowl around on Flickr); but for whatever reason, I sometimes get asked about taking on photo work, although I never seem to have the time for it. That being said, this portraiture thing has really sparked my interest, so I've decided to explore taking on a few clients. Rates are negotiable, depending on what you want done; if you're interested, please contact me inworld (via both a NC and IM please) and we'll have a li'l chat to see if it's something that makes sense for both of us.
Some time ago, the lovely ladies over at the Tres Chic blog kindly let me join their talented crew of hardcore fashionistas, but with the crush of the RL holidays, etc., I'd been unable to post anything until now (sowwwy fabulous ladies! Bad blogger!) *flogs self with purse strap* This casual look mixes some new things from Collabor88 + some more fun accessories (like these oversized red peacock feather earrings + bag), which I thought might do nicely for my 1st contribution there.
You can check out SLexy's own Anne Dakun + my other Flickr friends like the uber-talented Sid Rufus, Neva Crystall, Ananda S. + other stylists on the Tres Chic blog here.
This vibrant yellow print "kimono" dress by Nylon Outfitters is yet another Collabor88 find; I also wanted to mention the strappy purses I'm showing here, which you can find at my Flickr buddy Aeon Perion's new store, The Plank (be sure to grab this oversized leopard bag for free at the specific location noted in the Styling Credits below).
C'est Si Bon (salut, Yves Montand!) love + fashionista kisses to all!
Pose: Le Poppycock (new!) *double mwuahs Julliette Bade & Olivia Lalonde*
More bold colors for you today, this time in the form of a cerulean blue corset minidress by Tres Blah (also new at Collabor88), which for some reason I thought was a good reason to show off my new mah jong tiles that I won at the DPYumYum gatcha. -- Kinda makes me wish that I actually knew how to play mah jong; I hear it gets all the old ladies worked up + stuff, so it must be pretty fun.
And now it's time to get on my RL gameface. Cerulean love + fashionista kisses to all!
