Sunday Style: Burgundy Wayfarer

Today's Sunday Style is inspired by a RL friend who's arriving in swank style 2mor via PJ (that's private jet, for us non-fancy folk). -- Here's me traipsing thru this airport hangar in my new spat shoes by Atelier AM + a cropped burgundy blazer I scooped at the $20L R.icielli red color sale. -- My free deer friend decided to stick around for this photo shoot. I named him Pig.
Here's a close-up of this week's sultry new "Serena" style by Truth, which I'm showing with the latest va-va-voom glossy lipped skin by Curio + this free black cap by December. -- Pig liked to know what was goin' on. He didn't seem to mind my hairs at all; he just kept asking what was for dinner.

Watercolor

The free fur purse + free fur jacket gifts at Wave inspired this modern-day vintage styling, which to me recalled a muted watercolor painting with just a few splashes of color. A free "Something Old" necklace by Ganked added a chunky silver touch; a free tie-dyed tank by Fashionably Dead kept this look from being too pretty.
Fur purses are so great for those quasi-dramatic, casual toss of the head poses. The trick is tilting the hair just-so. See how this look says "Don't mind me, I just paid $3000 for this purse?" Totally.

Girlie Wirlie Afternoon

This supergirlie, "rolly balls" ponytail "Sabrina Streaked" hair has gotta be one of my fave Truth designs to date. (It's tres fun how both the streaks + balls are color change). Most def one of those styles I'll be parading around in for a minute. *mwuahs Truth Hawks*
Two other gifts inspired this look: some thick, cobalt blue cuffs that you can still scoop for free by Boom + a grooming gift that I think is a great find, these non-prim (but quite nice) shiny bloodred nails that you can scoop for free by Miasnow, that you wear as a gloves layer. (Some explanation here: one of Dream + I's pet peeves is how prim nails will inevitably do bizarre things, i.e., how you'll suddenly find that a bit of nail is poking you violently in the eye or stomach while wearing an pose or an AO. -- By contrast, I love how these are no muss, no fuss).
In shopping news, the Slow SIM has just opened, housing the brand-spanking new installment of Designers United, featuring the usual limited-edition choice stuffs from some of SL's best. I'll be heading there to deplete more $L shortly.

~ღ~And now a quick RL fashion tidbit to my RL fashion-obsessed readers (for anyone who's interested): So in my own RL designer happenings, I just took a "deskside" meeting yesterday with the Jewelry Editor of a front rack fashion/celebrity news magazine, to show her my RL jewelry designs (I do this from time to time for my jewelry line, with various fashion magazines). We had a li'l chat about Fashion Week just ending (really, 2 weeks here in NYC) + her (very insider) takeaway trends for Spring 2011 (for any non-Fashion Week folk, all the shows now were showing looks for Spring 2011) were as follows:

- Slouchy, high-waisted long pants. '70s revival. You have to wear "with a super high heel." (Personally I really hate these).
- Knee-length or tea-length (mid-calf) skirts. (So not the most flattering for shorter people btw).
- For right now (Fall 2010), camel is THE color for Fall. (Very excited that my too adorables furry camel purse is in again).
- For Spring 2011, a light "sky" blue + some pretty neutrals were showing. The bright orange thing (which appeared on a few runways during Fashion Week) is hopefully like, whatever.

"Of course," said this lovely Editor, "we will have to wait to see what happens on the European runways to know all the trends for sure." I just luhs getting the inside tips, so just thought I'd share! XD xoxo

Lost in the Woods

So Teshan invited me to post on her blog as a guest and I didn't post for a long time because I LOVE this blog and was too nervous I would mess it up! Then after she poked me a lot I decided to give it a go!

I tricked her by telling her I was doing an all pink post, hehe. Instead I did a sort of androgynous brown post! *Giggles* I do love these clothes though, and best part? Free and unisex! The skin is a new release from Adam N Eve and I must say it is lovely as all their skins are, might actually be one of my favorites from there.

And the boots? So perfect! Also unisex. (Gavin? Are you listening?)
